Hello list, this is my very first post to this list and Im quite sure a few will follow ;). Anyway I have a Problem with the configuration of X2goserver. Im finished with the LDAP stuff and so on and want to try it out now. But for some reason after logging in with the X2goclient it hangs right after clicking on "Ok". On serverside some processes starting up but nothing happens... I haven´t complete the PXE, ATFTPD and DHCP stuff and so on but the normal connect via x2goclient should work, right?
Do I have to add the clients that are able to connect to X2GO somewhere first??

Right. I have X2go running without LDAP, PXE boot, TFTP, DHCP and it works fine. It works "out of the box".
Maybe your problems are LDAP related?
Other people have x2go running with LDAP.
The server-proces only drops broken sessions out of the database.
There is no server-process running if you have no session.
Do I have to add the clients that are able to connect to X2GO somewhere first??
No, but the users need to be in the groups x2gousers and fuse. When it's right the setup has done that for you.
With regards, Paul van der Vlis.

Hi there, so I think this is a basic Problem I have here. The User is member of x2gousers and fuse. I have made something definitely wrong.
So here is me actual
/etc/hosts 127.0.0.1 localhost 127.0.1.1 GSN-EDU.GSN2 GSN-EDU 192.168.1.24 GSN-EDU.GSN2 GSN-EDU
This is what I have filled in for genoconf:
# ./genconf GSN-EDU Stadt de EDU GSN-EDU (Should I type GSN-EDU EDU EDU GSN-EDU instead? Without "de" and EDU insted of Stadt?)
Same thing with ./makeCA and ./makenewcert... So my problem is that my LAN has no .de .com .org .local or what else. It's just GSN2. My syslog gives me some strange output and I also have to enter the root password twice to log in, but without any error messages. Is this a LDAP related thing?

This looks correct.

I have no idea what genconf/genoconf is.
Same thing with ./makeCA and ./makenewcert...
This sounds like SSL. You don't need an SSL certificate or something like that for X2go.
Which distribution are you using, and which manual did you use?
So my problem is that my LAN has no .de .com .org .local or what else. It's just GSN2.
You don't need that. You can even connect to an IP number. Or you can put something in the /etc/hosts on the client.
My syslog gives me some strange output and I also have to enter the root password twice to log in, but without any error messages. Is this a LDAP related thing?
I don't know. Never seen it.

Ah, now I see what you mean with genconf and makeCA, this is for installing LDAP, I don't use LDAP, maybe somebody else can help you with that. I use the X2goserver-ONE package.
