Situation: Client: Windows 7 (32-Bit), German X2Go Client versions tested: http://code.x2go.org/releases/binary-win32/x2goclient/x2goclient-3.99.2.1-rc... (latest) http://code.x2go.org/releases/binary-win32/x2goclient/x2goclient-3.99.2.0-rc... (old)
Server: Debian Squeeze, 32-Bit, with additional repositories for newer iceweasel and icedove releases: sources.list-snippet: # Ice*-ESR deb http://backports.debian.org/debian-backports squeeze-backports main deb http://mozilla.debian.net/ squeeze-backports iceweasel-esr deb http://mozilla.debian.net/ squeeze-backports icedove-esr
Affected Iceweasel Version: 10.0.3 (ESR) Shockwave Flash: File: libflashplayer.so Version: Shockwave Flash 11.1 r102
Problem description: When opening two tabs in Iceweasel, and accessing Youtube in one, the rectangle containing the video player/flash applet is carried over to the new tab, where it blocks the view.
This does *not* happen with the Iceweasel version from stock Debian Squeeze. This *does* happen with both X2Go client versions listed above.
Is anybody out there running Iceweasel 10.0.3 (ESR) with the above-mentioned flash version on a "real" display screen (i.e. a Linux computer hooked up to a physical display, not via X2Go)? If so, could you please check if you're experiencing the issue as well:
I'm curious if this is a bug in Iceweasel or in X2Go.

I also saw that problem with Firefox, but the problem does NOT occur with the Chromium browser.

Can you reproduce it on a Linux client that does *not* run X2Go but is running Firefox locally?

We don't have problem with Firefox on Linux client without X2GO.
Thank you,

Hi, there are two new features in X2Go Client:
--user=<username> set username in session mode if this field is blank in session settings. --autostart=<app> launch "app" by session start in "published applications" mode
GIT commit: http://code.x2go.org/gitweb?p=x2goclient.git;a=commit;h=4f41b1600794e06c5a9e...
Win binary: http://code.x2go.org/releases/binary-win32/x2goclient/x2goclient-3.99.2.1-rc...
Deb packages coming soon.

/me goes "Yaaaay" :-D \o/
Does the autostart feature require a new server release as well, or is this a client-side-only change?

One thing to note, though, when using --autostart=<app>: <app> is the part of the file name before .desktop - NOT the display name as shown in the menu. So, to autostart Icedove, assuming you have a file called icedove.desktop in /etc/x2go/applications, you'd call --autostart="icedove", even though it may be displayed as "Icedove" or "Mail Client" or some other name depending on your language setting.

Coul it be that the changes documented in this GIT commit aren't the only ones you made, at least for:

I decided to check the md5sums of all files involved and I'm seeing the following:

Sorry for the confusion, I was comparing it with an older release - somehow I got the directory names mixed up.

I decided to check the md5sums of all files involved and I'm seeing the following:
- changed md5sums with a lot of cygwin-/Pulseaudio/VcXsrv-related files
- new files that weren't there in RC2 (e.g. x2goclient/libeay32.dll, x2goclient/VcXsrv/XErrorDB)
- files missing in RC3 that were there in RC2 (e.g. x2goclient/pulse/module-cli-protocol-tcp.dll)

We have the same problem with Ubuntu 12.04 64bit and Firefox 14. I have tested also with FreeNX on the same installation and the problem occures also in this setup. The cause is not the shockwave player (tried also Gnash) because this manifests itself also with the VLC plugin and I guess it does also with any other plugin which renders stuff (video, shockwave flash, etc). The same issue can not be recreated on a non X2GO/FreeNX setup (meaning on a regular desktop). Also using Chromium Browser and shockwave flash doesn't create problems so, so far only Firefox seems to be affected.
Can I provide you with some help in order to find the root cause of this ?
