Hi Alex,
SUSE packages on packages.x2go.org are built from the .spec files in the Git repos on git.x2go.org. Packages get built via jenkins.x2go.org. The .spec files are maintained by X2Go upsteam devs.
The .spec files that build X2Go packages on OBS have been created by Jan Engelhardt and initially were of high quality and up-to-date. The OBS packaging had been sponsored financially by Michael Kromers company.
However, the OBS packages had various issues, some of them you have already named.
The RPM packages hosted on packages.x2go.org are IMHO more similar to our Debian packages and should be preferred.
However, I haven't tried then for a while now and I neither know if the Jenkins build jobs are up-to-date and if recent SUSE versions are already supported.
I guess this all needs some love...
Mike

Hello all,
Can someone explain what is the difference between RPMs in the
obs://X11:RemoteDesktop:x2go/<distr>
and

?
in different places on our wiki page you can found references to both of them: http://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/doc:installation:x2goserver#adding_repositorie... http://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/wiki:repositories:suse http://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/wiki:repositories:start#open-_suse
It could be very confusing for users. Some of my customers installed packages from OBS and they didn't work as expected. I also tried this packages and figured out, that they are not equivalent to the packages from packages.x2go.org. For example, package x2goagent has no X2GO branding. Agent displays "!m" splash screen and "!m" icon. Customizing of keystrokes.cfg didn't work neither. I don't know if there are any other differences, I didn't make further investigations. I think, we should make it clear for the users on our wiki page, which packages we suggesting to use. If we giving a reference to the external resources, we should say what is difference between "our" packages and packages built by other people.
regards Alex

I plan to work on packaging a bit by end of March, hopefully also tackling OpenSuSE (bringing support for OpenSuSE Leap 42.1 is already on my todo list.)
Regarding OBS I will try to look into bringing the repositories as modules in my own repository first to get more familiarized with the OBS website and once again ask for access to the OBS:Remote-Desktop... repository.
I thought I added big fat warnings that what is in the OBS repository is currently out of date and potentially even broken to the wiki. I'll take a look at the links again and add necessary information, thanks.
