Installation went fine. When trying to connect to the test server the browser (firefox 3.6.6) is crashing with the following error:
firefox-bin: Fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server :0.0. firefox-bin: ../../src/xcb_io.c:249: process_responses: Assertion `(((long) (dpy->last_request_read) - (long) (dpy->request)) <= 0)' failed. Aborted firefox-bin: Fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server :0.0.
creating a new firefox profile did not work. any other ideas?

Hi Soeren, Have you tried connecting from a different version of Firefox to try to narrow down the problem? If you have another machine you could also install the same version of Firefox to see if it is Firefox or something with your installation. As far as versions, I've been using Firefox 3.6.3 without any problems.

Hi Gerry, i also tried it on my private laptop (also ubuntu 10.04 and firefox 3.6.6, but amd64) and on my pc at work (fedora 13, amd64). i got this problem on all pcs... so it don't seem to be a problem with my machine. on fedora I have firefox 3.6.4, as far as I remember. is there a possibility to generate more debugging output from firefox without rebuilding the whole browser? there are no additional plugins installed on the machines.

Soeren, I found a Debian bug that looks very similar:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=569036
This looks like it might be an upstream bug perhaps in libX11-6 and got triggered in that Firefox version.

I found a solution, but maybe it is not optimal. After your hint that this problem could be related to xorg, I activated the xorg-edgers repository in ubuntu tweak. From there one can get the newest x-packages for ubuntu. After upgrading the plugin is working now. So this problem seems really to be related to xorg. I hope there will be soon a fixed libX11-6 package in the official ubuntu repositories. Thanks for your help!

Just for the sake of completeness: on Ubuntu 10.04 i686 the problem was the same, downgrading to firefox 3.5.10 helped - the plugin works nicely.
P.S. I try to upgrade libx11 on my archlinux as mentioned in other posts to see if it helps with firefox 3.6.

I can confirm that the error appears on a fresh Ubuntu 10.04, with FF3.6 :
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; fr; rv:1.9.2.6) Gecko/20100628
Ubuntu/10.04 (lucid) Firefox/3.6.6
The error :
firefox-bin: Fatal IO error 11 (Ressource temporairement non

Does someone found a nice solution to use the plugin with Ubuntu Lucid
Lynx ? (xorg-edgers totally break my system)

Have a look at Milan's last post on this topic. He found out that the plugin seems to work with firefox 3.5.

I want to stay with Firefox 3.6, so I tried to downgrade from 3.6.6 to
3.6.3 : and it works !
Sometime in my webapp the plugin crash, depending on how I write the
code (I don't understand the reason), but it's mostly stable.
Heinz, do you want me to list bugs I've found ? (in desktopsharing, etc)

Hi all, The plugin does not work with Firefox 3.6.8. Don't have time to downgrade so will this be fixed soon? Or will have to wait for new version?
Tks in Advance Eric

Have you checked the file permissions inside the mozilla profiles directory? The x2goclient binary inside the extensions directory needs to have +x. Please tell us if this solution is working for you.
