I've tested the new add-on "x2goserver-xsession" with Lubuntu 11.10( as you described (only choosing LXDE, no Custom desktop)). It works fine.

I guess I can test it and then roll back. I'm just hesitant to switch to the nightly PPA because I got bit by some crippling session crash bugs last time I tried that.
