You said "On the one portable computer", have you other computers that working good? Is there a difference between computers? Different versions of software, distros, etc.

Both are running Debian unstable. On the portable computer network-manager-gnome is managing the network connection.

The only difference I can think of between the working and non-working client is, that I had the NoMachine Client installed before on the *working* client.

You can also try following:

1. check your ssh connection between client and server (use same username as in x2goclient)

Works. (ssh -XC 192.168.x.x)

2. try to run other programm on server (as I understood, you want to run terminal). try with (kde/gnome/other programms such xclock, xeyes, xterm , etc. Specify absolute path, f.e. /usr/bin/xclock be sure, that this path exists on server)

Did not work.

3. If you can, try to connect to other server.

Sorry, I do not have another server. So I cannot test that.

4. If you can, install qt version of x2goclient and test it.

I will do that, if the information below are not helpful.

5. see logs in ~/.x2go on server and client
