Hello,
Installing X2goserver on Wheezy works fine.
But when I start a session from a client with Squeeze to a server with Wheezy and Gnome, I see short a black "X2go" window, but after that the session is gone.
I will add the /var/log/auth.log and /var/log/syslog (debug mode) at the end of this mail.
With regards, Paul.

Yes, is does work. I've used the normal x2goclient, but on the server I use the version from Heuler now.
But starting is a bit slow, and after starting I see another desktop then normal. In the left on top I see "applications" and "locations" (translated from Dutch) and I can start applications and they are fast. But I cannot see minimized applications. Maybe this is Gnome3 in 2D....
I miss the "user" menu item on the right.
My settings are 800x600, but what I see is my whole screen (not fullscreen).
I don't see a way how to close the session, other then clicking the "x". After starting it a second time I did not have a menu anymore.
With regards, Paul.

Oh, I have the very similar problem now: when i choose in settings to show lxpanel at the bottom, i don't see it (it seems to me that it's drawn beyond the visible screen area), although the process is alive and working (Alt+F2 works, for example). If i choose to show it at the top of the desktop, it draws ok. It seems that x2goclient works incorrectly when you choose fixed resolution instead of fullscreen: x2goclient session window is declared as resizeable and when you resize it, lxpanel resizes, headers of maximized apps are resized too but the contents of their windows are not drawn beyond the initial area.
I don't remember but it seems that everything is OK when you choose fullscreen mode. Also, i remember that original NXClient session window is NOT resizeable when you select fixed resolution for session.

Of course, X2Go can only launch the 2d variants of GNOME/UNITY.

Do you have x2goserver-xsession (package) installed on the server?
Nowadays (wheezy+) this is a must with most desktop shells. Mike
