for another project I just discovered this comment: https://bugs.launchpad.net/launchpad/+bug/380871/comments/32 and it works!
We can therefore add a dev-branch and just rebase that to master once things are working. IMO this is Mikes decision, though. :)

To me this feels like a bunch of work...
o restructure our Git o add a second load of launchpad branches o and recipes -> that build to the stable ppa o documentation o keeping an eye on that people follow the new rules...
puuhhh... My very personal opinion: once we have to touch the build
structure anyway, this might be a good time for changing this, but
currently, I personally see, that we have other things with higher
priority...
The idea is great, don't misunderstand me, it just would be a bunch of
logistics facing us.

Nay, this was a misunderstanding. I just wanted to suggest, that is possible to add branch builds, e.g. when developing a new feature.... And of course it's not worth spending any time on this unless it give us significant advantages.
