at "X2Go: The Gathering 2014" we discussed the current todos / open
issues / status reports for the X2Go project. Here is a summary of
that discussion.

Sorry, it took so long to assemble this protocol. Finally, it is done.

X2Go - State of the Union

TL;DR; DEADLINES::::

@task assignees: please put the below deadlines into your time
planning device. Deadlines can always be post-poned (but not
forgotten). We are all volunteering on X2Go, so take your time. Any
help / contribution will be highly appreciated.

o end of 2014:
  - Unite wiki and blog (Heinz)
o end of 02/2015:
  - Allow people other people to post on the X2Go blog (Heinz / Mike#1)
o end of 01/2015:
  - Find a new LTS bundle release name (Heinz)

o no deadlines / noone assigned (volunteers)?

  - Jos and Heinz will get together and look at dokuwiki templates,
    landing pages, teaser pages. (Please provide a first deadline, that
    I can put in my calendar).
  - Merge ArchLinux wiki content on X2Go into upstream wiki. (Who? When?)

o General request for help with project work:
  - documentation
  - system / service administration
  - testing / X2Go QA

    o Rename Wiki item "Deployment Stories" to "Success Stories"

    o Who wants to post blog entries???

QA

  o nightly Builds for Distributions:

     o Debian
     o Ubuntu
     o RHEL (on top of EPEL packages)
       - 5: server-side only, not well tested
         6: available
         7: only available for x86_64
     o Fedora 19-rawhide)
     o openSUSE (12.3 / 13.1 atm)
     o SLES (in prep)

  o We want to form a QA team which can test on a high variety of
    distributions/operating systems.

  o List of QA items to pass before a release (Kjetil, Mike#1)

  o Launch a student testing project (in prep, Kjetil, Mike#1).
    Arrange brainstorming with Mike, Kjetil and Kees during  

upcoming week after the gathering (already done), preparing a student test project (work in progress).

  o unit test ALL THE CODE:
    - current status:
      * only x2gobroker has unit tests on board
    - no new X2Go component without unit testing!!!!!

DOCUMENTATION

  Merge ArchLinux wiki content (very good documentation!) into  

X2Go upstream wiki.

  Martin Wimpress will start working on the X2Go documentation for  

ArchLinux. Once he has reviewed / improved their docs, we will merge it.

  Let's not wait too long with starting the merge!!!

  Unfortunately: no deadline, noone assigned
