That would be stopping whatever main process you started. In my case, I use "single command" - "xterm", and simply exiting the main xterm closes the session.
From that main xterm window I start other windows with "xterm &" or "firefox &" etc, and those windows mix with the other windows on my local machine, without having a whole separate desktop.

Is there a simple command line command to terminate the X2Go session while being on the remote server?
So, the aim is to be able to terminate the session via the command line on the server, not on the client.
