Can't think of anything useful currently. Something has to trigger the crashes, but I don't know what exactly.
I cannot reproduce it myself, so my best guess is that some additional package (or configuration) is triggering this problem.
Wouldn't it be a package that is also running, e.g., an active service? Would any results from a ps command or tcpdump be useful? htop/top? Nothing from dmesg? Or enabling some debug logging some where, e.g., with rsyslog?
