Unity does not work using x2go, try installing gnome 2.3 or xfce and launching the session.

When i tried x2go and nx with unity it was really laggy because of the open gl display.

Yes, I've used same hardware with identical connection settings.
Also I've validated connection settings reported by NX during session setup.
NX3.5 behaves bad no matter which network media used, I've tested
with: 1000Gbit Lan, 100Mbit Lan, 50Kbit WAN, 100Kbit
WLAN and localhost (127.0.0.1).
To exclude specific hardware problems, several key tests were
performed on several different machines.
