Hello Mihai and all just checking to see if there are any other logs I can provide or tests I can run.
I've received a private message from an Ubuntu user today that upgraded to the new release versions I have published to days ago. For him, session startup broke in similar way - nxagent was unable to open its internal display.
A small change in x2gostartagent (overriding the hostname with the value stored in HOSTNAME again) fixed the issue for him, but that'll probably not help you, since you've already tested with builds that used HOSTNAME directly in the past and have still experienced the problem.
Might have given me a clue, though.
How does your /etc/nsswitch.conf look like and what's the content of /etc/hosts? Preferably of both systems, let's see if something is different.
Maybe the system's short name or FQDN is not mapped to an address correctly?
