Dear NoMachine developers,
I would like to point you to some (new) information on NX packaging for Debian.

Yes, when they should need to contact you (probably to get your final permission to include them) will depend on what our development release schedule is for 3.5.0. At the moment, all efforts are being ploughed into NX 4 Beta.
First please note the ITPs for NX recently opened (ITP = Debian Intent To Package for not-yet-in-Debian software projects):
http://bugs.debian.org/655618 (NX xcomp/proxy components) http://bugs.debian.org (NX agent/X11/compression/proxy components)
Further more, we would like to inform you, that the NX packaging workflow has changed a little.
X2Go upstream (http://wiki.x2go.org) has started providing ,,NX (redistributed)'', a patched tarball of NX (nxcomp*, nxproxy, nxagent, nxauth, nx-X11) that aims at working with X2Go _and_ free NX implementations, very probably also with your nxserver 3.5 version.
We (again X2Go upstream) very recently also added an enable-Xinerama-support patch to nxagent/nx-X11 which makes nxagent work with multiple monitor-heads (recognize the limits of one head on maximize).
The ,,NX (redistributed)'' code and patch base is maintained here: http://code.x2go.org/gitweb?p=nx-libs.git;a=summary
The tarballs are placed here: http://code.x2go.org/releases/source/nx-libs/
The tarballs are rolled with this script: http://code.x2go.org/gitweb?p=nx-libs.git;a=blob;f=bin/nx-tarballrelease
These tarballs (client-only for now) are then taken then for Debian packaging.
For now only the nx-libs_3.5.0.2-lite.tar.gz ball. This will be uploaded to Debian unstable in the near future. http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=collab-maint/x2go/nx-libs-lite.git;a=sum...
The discussion about nx-libs_3.5.0.<redist-rev>-full.tar.gz is going on the Debian Developer mailing list, so we will see. We hope to be able to upload the full ,,NX (redistributed)'' code to Debian experimental for now. For the (from our perspective) full NX code+patch base, there is not packaging repository on Alioth, yet.
Thanks for taking your time, hope this mail reaches the appropriate people in your business.
The Debian Packaging Team for ,,NX (redistributed)'' can be contacted here: pkg-x2go-devel@lists.alioth.debian.org

Dear Mike,
Thank you for submitting this! We really appreciate the contributions.
At a glance, the patch for copy and paste of UTF8 text certainly looks
interesting. Also, patches to enable Xinerama and the update of auto
tools files could be interesting too.
We will certainly need to review and test carefuly before we can decide to accept the patches officially.
All the patches related directly to improving NX-x11 and nxagent
and how they improve NX technology that NoMachine releases will be
looked at. For example, our developers will certainly look at:
017_nx-x11_update-autotools-helper-files.patch 018_nx-x11_update-libtool-ltmain-script.patch 019_nx-x11_expat-build-against-system-libxmltok.patch
106_nxagent_utf8-copy-clipboard.patch 107_nxagent_clipboard-compound-text+small-bed-sheets.patch 108_nxagent_wine-close-delay.patch 109_nxagent_locale-utf8-compound-text.patch 110_nxagent_createpixmap-bounds-check.patch
202_nx-x11_enable-xinerama.patch
If we have any further questions, we will contact you.
Thanks once again!
Kind regards,
The NoMachine Team
