If the Plasma working after deinstallation of nvidia driver, maybe problem is with opengl libs delivered by nvidia? In this case we could apparently use X2go with nvidia drivers setting LD_LIBRARY_PATH to legacy OpenGL libraries.

Do you have the information on which operating system KDE5 was able to start? According to the thread "It might be that we already have KDE5/Plasma support ..." over on X2Go-User, we have several confirmed reports involving Debian 9 (with X2Go stable as well as heuler), and one for FC26.
