Package: x2gothinclient Version: 1.0.1.8-0 A user "x2gothinclient" is established in the TCE- environment, but /usr/sbin/x2gothinclientd expects the user "x2goclient", with its home directory at /home/x2goclient. Therefore /usr/bin/x2goclient will not start, leaving the user in front of a black screen. Intruducing the user 'x2goclient' solved the problem. From Debian Edu I know that it is rather easy to retrieve the hostname from DNS. Like this: MAC -> DHCP -> retrieve IP -> DNS -> set FQDN (revDNS) as hostname If this fails, MAC as hostname is a fallback that is good enough. Hi everyone, as some of you might know, last year, we had an "X2Go HackTrain" event. The train used for the X2Go HackTrain event is a vintage multiple-unit Diesel Railbus, built in the late 1950ies/early 1960ies. It's operating every Sunday between Ulm, Germany and Kleinengstingen, Germany, until Mid-October. Last year's participants were: - Heinz M. Graesing - Oleksandr 'Alex' Shneyder - Mihai 'ionic' Moldovan - and me, Stefan Baur, as the organizer and sponsor. Sadly, the invitation I had sent out to some of the other core devs (see subject) seems to have gone into their spam-catcher mailboxes. Feedback from last year's participants was positive, so I was thinking we could repeat it this year, possibly with more participants. Last year's problem (and the reason why we opted for the HackTrain rather than a BBQ) was that Alex only has two truly "free" weekends per year, and those are pretty late in the year (X2Go HackTrain 2012 took place in late September). So: @Alex - please let me know (off-list) if and when you could participate this year, or if you don't know yet, let me know by when you will know. @Morty & @Reinhard - please (at least) provide a short "ping" that you're paying attention to this thread, or I will keep bugging you via various other contact methods (IRC and all e-mail addresses I can find, and yes, that is meant as a threat! ) @Mike - Of course, you and your family are most welcome as well. What I observed is that the entries in known_hosts created by ssh that are not supported contain a string ecdsa-sha2-nistp256 instead of ssh-rsa. Hashed entries with ssh-rsa are supported. readelf -d /usr/bin/x2goclient |does not show a dependency on libcrypto which contains the elliptic curve cryptography functions while readlef -d /usr/bin/ssh shows such a dependency.| Best regards Heinrich Schuchardt

Take in mind that cursor is the gold/black column-like thing that you can see on the screenshots. Sequence of actions I executed, in order to reach the bug : 1.Install clean Fedora 17 x86_64 2. Install RHEL 6 3. Install x2go server on the RHEL 4. Install Questa Sim Simulator on the RHEL server 5. Connect from the fedora desktop, to the RHEL server 6. Start the Questa Sim Simulator 7. Try to change the cursor color through the color settings of the Simulator 8. The color settings display information that the cursor's color has changed, while it remains the same The first screenshot is of a Ubuntu machine, running the x2go client (as you can see the cursor is gold) The second and third are of a Fedora machine, running the exact same configuration, but as you can see the cursor remains black. Please do note, that the problem does not exist on Ubuntu 12.X or Windows 7

I now try to connect the same server with x2goclient and get an error "Der Host-Key des Servers konnte nicht gefunden werden aber ein anderer Schlüsseltyp existiert. The error message is the one about sshd not running (printSshDError() in onmainwindow.cpp). The conditions are: 1. Unable to open host public key (line 7319) 2. Unable to open key for exports (line 7438) 3. Unable to open authorized_keys (line 7455) These should have distinct error messages, that does not just claim that sshd isn't running. Also, the current message tells the user to install sshd with "apt-get install openssh-server". Seemingly obsolete file in CentOS 6.4 package

Hi, In the CentOS 6.4 there's a file which seems obsolete. It is /etc/sudoers.d/x2go In the file: %x2gousers ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD: /usr/bin/x2gopgwrapper However, there's no x2gousers group created and there is no x2gopgwrapper anywhere on the system. So the file doesn't have any effect whatsoever. If it's needed for something, it probably needs to be fixed, but since X2Go works fine without the file, it seems more like it's a leftover from some old code. x2go no longer works after reboot on CentOS 6.4

Hello! After not getting freenx working properly on a clean install of CentOS 6.4, someone advised me to install x2go server. I was surprised by the ease of installation, using the RHEL6 repository. Using an x2go client on Ubuntu 12.04 to connect, things worked fantastic out of the box. However, after a reboot of the CentOS 6.4 machine, the client can no longer connect. I've presented this issue to #x2go on Freenode, where sunweaver was gracious enough to provide some useful information. He advised me to post about my issue on this mailing list. After an unsuccessful connection attempt, this is in /var/log/syslog with debug log level: http://pastebin.com/L3e4xP6g The x2go client says: http://pastebin.com/CiGatMeS When I connect, I get those errors. When I re-connect it shows an active session, but I can't resume it. I can start a new one, but then the same thing happens as the first time. The error message shows up and next time there's 2 sessions in the session popup during login. Per sunweaver's suggestions, I've tried rm -f /var/lib/x2go/x2go_sessions and x2godbadmin --createdb but that didn't solve the problem. There is also no process x2gocleansessions running. There is nothing actually running with x2go in the name (ps aux | grep x2go returns nothing). When starting x2gocleansessions manually, I get: http://pastebin.com/fExxSJ5p Another suggestion was to create a brand new user account, but there I get the same error as with the other user account. I've tried a fresh account on both server and client. About the not locating x2gologlevel.pm bit (the x2gocleansessions error)... seems like it's include path is insufficient. The file is in /usr/lib64/x2go/x2gologlevel.pm. Not sure how to fix that and if it's indication of bigger problems. Also interesting... in the sudoers file there's a reference to /usr/bin/x2gopgwrapper, but this executable does not exist. If you have any suggestions on things which I could try that might shed further light on this, please let me know. Also, the machine that's plagued with this issue is a fresh installation, with nothing sensitive, critical or even mildly important running there yet. I could provide you with ssh access to this machine so you can have a look around and/or attempt to connect. Status of bug #179

Hi guys, What is the status of bug #179? I am not trying to be annoying here, it is just that my current test-setup for x2go is now in a state where it is almost ready to roll out to production and thus all my users. The only thing stopping it, apart from a few non-x2go related issues, seem to now be bug #179. Package: x2goclient Version: 4.0.0.3 Severity: minor The x2goclient installer for Windows does come with an uninstall-script, but when I go to "Add or remove programs" on Windows XP or "Uninstall a program" on Windows 7, it does not list x2goclient. Hi to all who use X2Go Session Broker (x2gobroker.git), please test the latest builds (still building atm) of X2Go Session Broker and report back if you meet any sort of troubles. The session broker will require a latest version of X2Go Server (4.1.0.0-prerelease) or (4.0.0.3-prerelease).
