Single application resume depends on virtual desktop.

Package: nxagent Version: 3.5.0.24-0x2go1+git20140508.472+jessie.main.1 OS: Debian 7. Window Manager: openbox. Application tested: /usr/bin/rxvt. When suspend/resume a single application, it does not show again if it was not on a visible virtual desktop at the time of the suspend operation. It does not matter the active virtual desktop at the time of resuming, but only when suspending. Steps to reproduce: 1. Launch a single application (rxvt) 2. Suspend session 3. Resume session (rxvt window appears) 4. Press "Suspend session" button, and before it is actually suspended fastly move to another virtual desktop 5. Resume session (rxvt window does not appear) I have tried with several applications launched from that rxvt console. What basically happens is what I describe here. Wmctrl always shows the windows when the session is resumed, even when these are not visible. Also, wmctrl shows the window is on the virtual desktop where it was before being suspended, being it visible or not. Bug#302: Possible solution to #302 ?

Control: tag -1 patch Hi, Putting the attached file into your "extensions/post-suspend.d" folder on the server... may solve #302 issues... On Ubuntu that would be an executable named "302_bug-fix" with the following full path: /usr/lib/x2go/extensions/post-suspend.d/302_bug-fix (On other distros just simply locate your "post-suspend.d" folder and put it there.. PS! Make sure its executable! (chmod 755). Its may be good to clean up all old sessions before you start a brand new and fresh session to test this fix. We were able to reliably reproduce fault/non-fault conditions and after applying this fix, we're seeing 100% success rates for session resume with pyhoca.... The source of the issue seem to be that the NX port reappears on the server within seconds of session suspension.... in a state where where its not ready for new incoming connections... (quite frankly it should not be available at all at this time, should it?) So either we're reconnecting to this "faulty" port or the fresh port fails to open due to the "old port" being in the way.... Either way NX fails to resume... The problem seem to be consistently occurring when rapidly suspending/resuming with pyhoca and if x2goclient experience abnormal/unclean disconnects that results in suspension. Either way this little perl script will clean up those stray NX ports by simply locating and connecting to them... (after which, the port closes, as it should.) If this indeed solves the #302 bug, this should probably move from extensions to being part of the suspend scripts.... but for cleanliness and admin-friendliness its easier to test it as an extension.... Let us know if this works for you! (btw: If the supportive subs are adopted to Utils.pm the script it self would become quite compact) Best Regards, -GZNGET

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75006#c16 Basically, the fact that PulseAudio ignores XDG_CONFIG_HOME and PULSE_COOKIE is a problem for everyone who uses or integrates PulseAduio. Tanu (the lead PulseAudio developer) submitted a set of 9 patches for this issue, but they changed the behavior of PulseAudio in such a way that breaks compatibility with x2goclient. My intention is for x2goclient master (4.0.2.1) for Windows to be able to work with PulseAudio 0.9.6, 1.1, 5.0 and master. Presumably, I'll just provide feedback on those patches, and Tanu will rework them. Or I'll make a safe Windows-specific change to x2goclient, like specifying PULSE_COOKIE. For those who don't know, x2goclient 4.0.2.0 works with 0.9.6, 1.1 and 5.0. (And versions in-between 1.1 and 5.0. We only ship 5.0 because there have been no Windows-specific Audio issues reported for 4.0.2.0.) Also, even before these 9 patches were applied, x2goclient no longer worked with pulseaudio master. Package: X2Go Client Version: 4.0.1.2+ I was using 4.0.0.3 version of X2Go Client with 'auto log-in (ssh-agent)' option using. So basically I have my pageant ssh-agent (Windows 7) running with a key. I could connect to my host with X2Go. But once I tried the last version (4.0.2.0) - it didn't work. It pops up a window dialog with 'enter the passphrase for the key'. And whatever I write - it doesn't accept. If I click cancel (or just after a number of failed attemps) I am getting an empty error window dialog. I still can connect all other tools (like Putty, Mysql GUI, etc...) using ssh-agent. libjpeg-turbo released for cygwin 32-bit: headed soon to X2Go Client for Windows

Good news everyone! The Windows X2Go Client builds, which are currently only 32-bit, will soon be faster: http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.os.cygwin/146737 I will switch them from the regualr libjpeg packages to libjpeg-turbo packages. This will only apply to upcoming nightly builds, and 4.0.2.1 (Unless a major issue arises. I doubt one will.) I will announce once the nightly builds are switched over. And this will be announced in the 4.0.2.1 release notes. -Mike#2

Package: x2goclient Severity: wishlist Version: 4.0.1.2 Upon connection, an info bubble pops up, containing a *totally cryptic session name* and disappearing after five seconds or so. No non-technical user can make use of that message, seriously. And even technical users will have a hard time memorizing a cryptic session name within 5 seconds. Please, also add an option to disable this popup, and seriously consider changing the displayed info to something more user friendly like "Connection to host <host>, session <sessionname> established as user <user>." It's okay to add the cryptic string somewhere where techies can find it if they need it, maybe in an About-Box or so, but please - think of the chil^W ordinary non-technical end user. And again, I'm kind of disappointed that we're adding silly eye candy when there still are serious bugs to fix.

The parameter should be named --no-sharing or similar, and what it should do is hide the folder sharing options - in an active session, the "<Session Name>/Share Folder" entry on X2Go's taskbar icon context menu when minimized - also in an active session, the "Share Folder" icon in the session window when not minimized - in the session preferences windows, the "Shared folders" tab The reason for this is that in environments where folder sharing is disallowed by the admin (users not members of fuse group/fuse not installed on server), it irritates the users, as those of the "tinkering" type try to configure a shared folder, fail, and complain to the admins. So it would be cool to be able to hide these options with a command line switch. Also, in environments where folder sharing *is* allowed, but where its settings should not be changeable by the user, hiding the option and making the config file readonly would be a way to keep users from making unwanted changes. -Stefan

Package: x2goclient Severity: wishlist Version: 4.0.1.2 Even with the newer Xserver that is included in x2goclient-4.0.1.2-pre02-setup, Chromium and Chrome still crash at random intervals. To be exact, they're not crashing themselves, they're crashing the Xserver. Pausing and resuming a session lets you continue where you stopped, yet, this is an instability that users won't put up with since they quit Windows 98/Millennium for good. It's only when X2Go is involved that these crashes occur - if you export the display with ssh (from PuTTY) instead of using x2goclient.exe, Chromium and Chrome behave well. This is not a showstopper for me (my customers are using Iceweasel so far), but it is an issue where I had hoped to see some improvement with the new Xserver.

Today I tried starting a connection from Ubuntu while having the xinerama extension enabled. This fails with: $ x2goclient x2go-INFO-1> "Starting x2goclient..." x2go-WARNING-1> "Can't load translator: :/x2goclient_nl_be" x2go-WARNING-2> "Can't load translator: :/qt_nl_BE" x2go-INFO-3> "Started x2goclient." x2go-INFO-8> "Starting connection to server: [redacted]:22" X Error: BadDrawable (invalid Pixmap or Window parameter) 9 Major opcode: 14 (X_GetGeometry) Resource id: 0x520001b x2go-WARNING-7> "Error getting window geometry (window closed)?" I disabled the xinerama extension and tried again. Now I can open the session, but almost as soon as it opens, the session shuts down again. No errors are reported. The only thing that appears client side is: x2go-INFO-8> "Starting connection to server: [redacted]:22" In the server log (attached) nothing appears, except a few warnings about fonts not being found and that the session is being suspended. Strangely, sometimes I can use the session long enough to move a few windows or type something in, but it always quietly suspends. The version of x2goclient is 4.0.1.1-1ubuntu2

It seems that when the namespace.init script runs, the real /tmp is already hidden. If you run the bind mount part at startup, then just make the link in namespace.init, it seems to work, but this is rather ugly. It would be better if x2go would just work. It seems that other X applications were fixed in RHEL6 to not need the workaround. (the baby seal with My session / root(a)123.45.67.89 / gnome / 800x600 / enabled) so the desinstallation is not clean ! so, i desinstall X2GO i try to manually delete ALL THE REPERTORIES, and clean the windows register with "Regedit" => done and i reinstall X2GO. BUT THE OLD PARAMETERS IS STILL HERE: OMG I'M stuck with this bug: the bad parameters is still her: (the baby seal with My session / root(a)123.45.67.89 / gnome / 800x600 / enabled) and one second after (i can't modify nothing) CRASH " Can't start X Server, please check your installation" so i return to 3.99.2.2 goodbye 4.X :-/ thank you

Also, for those who are affected by this issue, until it is fixed please, follow this workaround which Stephane Mutz mentioned but did not list: 1. Open regedit (you do not need admin rights.) 2.
