Client Side Printing support explicitly requires Folder Sharing, as this is what is internally used to enable Client Side Printing. I'm not sure if the printing scripts use x2gomountdirs, but it's highly likely they do. You're not going to get one feature without the other currently, sorry. Mihai

Hello and thanks for tat great project. In a new installation of x2goserver I need no permit mount shared folders anyway. I not found any option in server to do this. Finally I commented two lines (around 275) in /usr/bin/x2gomountdirs: #mkdir("$this_mdir/$p"); #$mntpath="$this_mdir/$p"; And work for me (in fact not work) I yes permit mount spool for print Is there any option in anywhere to do this? Is possible introducing this option-feature? Thanks

New help output system for X2Go Client

Hi, The current x2goclient --help output has been bugging me for a while. I have replaced the old output with a new, dynamic help output system that automatically formats the printed text based on the terminal width (for UNIX-based systems and on Windows.) Besides automatic formatting, another design goal was to make it as easy as possible for other people, including non-coders, to add parameter documentation. Bug#845: Intentional forced language?

That's sad that it's intentional, because for example if you move to work in different country and you are still using windows with your own language, then reinstalling to newest x2go changes that language to something you don't handle.Why can't x2go check the language of the windows operating system and use the same language?In most cases (always) users buy their windows OS with language that they know and want that every program is with that same language.

Hi, Incidentally, I discovered that sending garbage on that port make the client crash and disconnect. So you can remotely disconnect any client using x2go client. Kind of DOS isn’t it ? I discovered it simply doing this: nmap -v -n --open -Pn -sSV --version-intensity 0 -p T:1-65535 192.168.56.0/24 crashing all x2goclients on the subnet! Definitely, the proxy should NOT listen on INADDR_ANY but only on localhost in SshProcess::tunnelLoop. Thanks -- Guillaume Castagnino

Plan to drop Mac OS X 10.6 support

Rationale: OS X 10.6 is no longer receiving security updates by Apple since February 2014. For OS X 10.5, Apple ceased security support in September 2011. We continued to support OS X 10.5 in X2GoClient until April of 2012. That was a good 6 months over the official end of support from Apple's side. Following that logic, we should already have dropped support for OS X 10.6 around August 2014, so it's long overdue to do so. TL;DR: If you're currently using OS X 10.6 and have no plans or no way to upgrade to a newer release, please speak up now. package: x2goclient version: 4.0.3.2-0x2go1 Hi, When starting X2GoClient in fullscreen mode on a Raspberry Pi (running Raspbian 7.8), the X2GO logo that appears on the black startup screen is shown in green rather than in the usual grey. Also, when running LibreOffice Impress, things look OK while composing a presentation, but switching to presentation mode, the colors are wrong again. This may be related to a color depth setting somewhere? IDK. Would love to hear other people's ideas and opinions as to how to find out what's going wrong. A sample system where we can try out things is available, it has been donated to the project by the Niuco company. -Stefan

Package: python-x2gobroker Version: 0.0.3.0 In the same vein as the dpi issue noted in bug #834 the presence of default values for height, width and fullscreen in the /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/x2gobroker/defaults.py file under theX2GOBROKER_SESSIONPROFILE_DEFAULTS section prevent the x2goclient --geometry option being used to set what default geometry size (or if to use fullscreen) to be set by the client even if the admin of the x2gobroker setup hasn't defined those values in the x2gobroker-sessionprofiles.conf file. I'd suggest updating the /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/x2gobroker/defaults.py file to remove the lines "u'height': 600," "u'fullscreen': False," "u'width': 800," from the X2GOBROKER_SESSIONPROFILE_DEFAULTS section. In my testing with those default value gone; * If a height/width/fullscreen values are set in x2gobroker-sessionprofiles.conf (which is the default provided in the sample config file), then those values are used by the session overriding whatever the client has set as it's geometry option. * If the values aren't set in x2gobroker-sessionprofiles.conf and a --geometry command line argument ISN'T provided to the client then the x2goclient defaults of height=600, width=800, fullscreen=False are used resulting in the same behaviour as if the defaults previously defined in defaults.py were still present. * If the values aren't set in x2gobroker-sessionprofiles.conf and a --geometry command line argument IS provided to the client it is then used and the user running the x2goclient can pick their own initial geometry to start with. So in default cases having that default value removed shouldn't change behavior and it would allow people to configure their starting geometry if the x2gobroker admin has permitted it by not providing overriding values in the x2gobroker-sessionprofiles.conf file. Raspberry Pi Builds and How to Handle Authentication/Signing

Hi guys, 1st of all, I recall that someone else offered to setup a Raspberry Pi for X2Go Jenkins builds, but I forget who it was. I also cannot find anything about it in my IRC logs or emails. Anyway, I started (but did not finish) adapting buildscripts.git for Raspberry Pi builds with Raspbian: http://code.x2go.org/gitweb?p=buildscripts.git;a=shortlog;h=refs/heads/feat… (For one thing, I need to replace the logic that always calls qemubuilder with logic to use regular (chroot) pbuilder.) For those of you who are unfamiliar, the challenge with Raspbian is that while Debian's "armhf" binaries are ARMv7 hard-float, Raspbian's "armhf" binaries are ARMv6 hard-float. This is a necessary complication to maximize performance out of the Raspberry Pi 1. Even on the Raspberry Pi 2, which does support ARMv7 hard-float, Raspbian users are currently still using these binaries. I figured I would setup my Raspberry Pi 2 at my apartment as a Jenkins slave. However, it appears that I would need to upload the packages to code.x2go.org with dupload, which would in turn call scp in batch mode. That means setting up SSH public key authentication. We would also have to figure out package signing. So before I continue, I want to know: 1. Should I continue setting this up, or should we try to use qemubuilder on japsand with a Raspberry Pi version of QEMU? 2. If I continue setting this up, how should we setup the SSH and GPG keys? -Mike#2

Hi, I initially intended to write this eMail as a follow-up to another thread on the mailing list: [X2Go-Dev] FYI: I updated the Fedora Rawhide mock files onjenkins However, this turns out to be a bad idea as the changes to the buildscripts were quite massive and not just fixing one issue. Thus, I'll be utilizing this to give you all a summary of what changed. Deb + RPM shared changes: o New cleanup mechanism. Temporary directories are now always deleted, no matter whether the build was successful or not. o Added a lot of quotes and put variables in ${CURLY_BRACES}. o Functions are, whenever possible, not ran in subshells. This means that global variables can be modified and will actually have an effect in the main process. o Lots of small improvements, for instance by not using echo "${var}" | grep "searchstr", but grep "searchstr" <<< "${var}" or grep "searchstr" "file" instead of cat "file" | grep "searchstr" RPM changes: o New mock config file creation mechanism for merging a base mock config with a .repo file. o New option "RPM_MOCK_CONFIG_DIR". Default: /etc/mock. Not overridden in x2go.conf. Specifies the location of mock .cfg and additional .repo files. o New option "RPM_EXTRA_REPO_MOCK_CONFIG_BASE". Default: empty string. Overridden in x2go.conf to "x2go". Sets the prefix for .repo files in the ${RPM_MOCK_CONFIG_DIR} directory. (hell, I should probably change this to a better, shorter name, but I have no idea to what exactly...) o New option "RPM_WANT_EXTRA_REPOS". Default: 0. Overridden in x2go.conf to 1. If this is enabled, additional repositories provided in ${RPM_MOCK_CONFIG_DIR} are taken into account and merged with the base mock config file. Otherwise, the default config files in /etc/mock will be used by running mock with the option -r ${DISTRIBUTION}-${VERSION}-${ARCH}, e.g. -r fedora-22-x86_64. o Additional repository files in ${RPM_MOCK_CONFIG_DIR} have to follow this naming convention: ${RPM_EXTRA_REPO_MOCK_CONFIG_BASE}-${DISTRIBUTION}.repo and should contain: - a section called ${RPM_EXTRA_REPO_MOCK_CONFIG_BASE}- -extras-${DISTRIBUTION}. If the package to be built is NOT included in the list provided by the already existent ${PACKAGE_WITHOUT_OTHERMIRROR} variable, the release or nightly section will also be copied to the generated temporary mock config file. For all copied sections, the "enabled" key will be forcefully set to 1 and "gpgcheck" to 0. I may change the latter behavior at a convenient time with prior testing. /etc/mock changes: o Copied /etc/mock to /etc/mock-2015-04-03 as a backup. o Copied original .cfg files to .cfg.orig. o Fetched new .cfg files from mock's upstream git archive for version 1.2.7. o For Fedora 20 to 22, the upstream config files define "releasever" and use it as a variable in the yum.conf section. This does not work with mock 1.1.33. Thus I copied the original upstream files with an .upstream suffix and used sed to hardcode the release version in the "normal" mock config files. Reason: /usr/bin/x2gobroker-ssh is installed with these permissions: -r-sr-x--- 1 x2gobroker <x2gobroker-users> 6168 Apr 1 06:24 /usr/bin/x2gobroker-ssh That means: only users that are members of the POSIX group <x2gobroker-users> (in Debian/Ubuntu, this is configurable via DebConf) can launch a fully featured X2Go Session Broker instance via SSH brokerage. A user that is member of group <x2gobroker-users> launches x2gobroker-ssh and the process permissions are these: real uid: <uidNumber-of-the-user> real gid: <gidNumber-if-the-user> effective uid: x2gobroker effective gid: <gidNumber-if-the-user> So, the setuid flag on /usr/bin/x2gobroker-ssh changes the effective user ID, but not the effective group ID. If agent-query-mode is set to LOCAL, x2gobroker-ssh directly calls /usr/lib/x2go/x2gobroker-agent (via subprocess.Popen) and fails, because of insufficient priveleges: -rwsr-x--- 1 root x2gobroker 6168 Apr 2 06:39 /usr/lib/x2go/x2gobroker-agent Only users that are members of POSIX group "x2gobroker" can launch the x2gobroker-agent script (and gain root priveleges). Bug#834: defaults.py X2GOBROKER_SESSIONPROFILE_DEFAULTS dpi prevents client from using autodetected dpi

Package: python-x2gobroker Version: 0.0.2.3 Tags: patch It was noted by my users that their x2go sessions started via the broker always got the default dpi setting of 96 instead of the dpi value native to their machine. Tracing through the code as far as I can see the problem is that if the /etc/x2go/broker/x2gobroker-sessionprofiles.conf file doesn't have a dpi= setting defined in it the default one is provided by the value in the /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/x2gobroker/defaults.py file under X2GOBROKER_SESSIONPROFILE_DEFAULTS that's not ideal since it stops the client from supplying it's autodetected one which matches the actual dpi on the user's machine. I'd suggest updating the /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/x2gobroker/defaults.py file to remove the line "u'dpi': 96," from the X2GOBROKER_SESSIONPROFILE_DEFAULTS section (as per the attached patch). In my testing with that default value gone (assuming that setdpi=1 is set); * If a dpi=num value is set in x2gobroker-sessionprofiles.conf (which is the default provided in the sample config file), then that sessionprofile set dpi value is used by the session. * If there is no dpi=num value set in x2gobroker-sessionprofiles.conf then that the x2goclient provides it's own value which is either the autodetected value matching the dpi of the machine that is being connected from or the client falls back to it's default value which is also 96 So as far is I can see in default cases having that default value removed shouldn't change behavior and it would allow people optionally configure their sessionprofiles to have no dpi value set so broker sessions would be free to use the native dpi value provided by the client (which doesn't seem to be possible currently due to the default overriding the client providing it's own value). On Japsand, which Jenkins builds on, I updated the mock files (/etc/mock/*.cfg) for Fedora Rawhide to their mock 1.2.7-1 versions: https://apps.fedoraproject.org/packages/mock/changelog/ One of the differences is that the rawhide RPMs now have "fc23" instead of "fc22" in their names. I started rebuilding the Rawhide packages through the Jenkins WebGUI. I intend to finish doing so tonight. -Mike#2
