Package: x2goclient The sshd (sshd.exe) spawned by x2goclient for things like the folder sharing is creating a DSA HostKey. Even if this sshd is only listening on localhost and is accessed through the ssh tunnel from the X2Go server this might lead to connections errors if the ssh_config of the server is configured to not allow connections to these weak (1024 bit) DSA HostKeys. I would advice increasing this to at least 2048 bit RSA host keys or even elliptic curve host keys if available. Specifically, the sshfs mounts never take place on the server. The sshd.exe process is running though. I have been talking with Ionic on IRC about this. The most logical next step for debugging this is for me to modify the behavior of x2goclient's --debug on Windows to pass an option like this to sshd.exe: -E /path/to/debug/log

Package: x2goagent I am using Ubuntu 14.10 with Mate Desktop with multiple work spaces. If I use Remmina with NX plugin, the control-alt-right/left arrow keys work to switch work spaces even when I'm up on a remote desktop. With X2Go, it usually doesn't work, except if I use control-alt-M to minimize the session then restore it, the keys will usually work thereafter. Remmina has a way to toggle this behavior, a little pull down at the top with a keyboard symbol. If it's down, the control-alt-arrows go to the end application allowing me to switch work spaces on the remote desktop, and if it's up they go to the local desktop. Package: nx-libs Version: 3.5.0.29 After building and installing X2Go packages on Ubuntu 12.04 ppc64le some months ago, I experienced the following strange behavior(s): - image colors were distorted sometimes (but sometimes not) - instead of brown, pink was shown - images (PNG? SVG?) didn't load or show correctly. Colors were way off (see above) and mostly only contours drawn, if even that. - scrolling in a scrollview (e.g., XFCE's settings manager(?)) sometimes forced a correct redraw of images, but mostly only partitially - hovering over an image broke it visually again - mouse cursor either disappeared completely or was replaced with a block (what seemed to be random data converted to an image) I have not done any debugging on these issues yet. Run gedit in the session created in 3. 5. Create a session in windows launching only xterm. 6. Run gedit from the console created in 5. 7. Create a session in windows launching only gedit. Results: 1. Steps from Setup 3, 4 and 5 work fine. 2. Steps from Setup 6 and 7 crash (close the session). A quick look in dmesg shows that *libNX_X11.so.6.2* caused a SEGFAULT. Specifically the segment between lines 735-780, tries to set a property that is bigger than the maximum size required, but because it's a malformed request it ends up writing in memory outside the boundaries of the output buffer. Alternatives: 1. Ensure that nxagentExportProperty never writes beyond the boundaries of the output buffer. 2. Resize the output buffer to match the required size (ProcChangeProperty seems to do something similar). 3. Ignore big requests (see attached patch). --

No firewalls of port limitations are in effect, and SSH works normally as per the default Ubuntu installation (packages "openssh-server" and "openssh-client"). While connecting, the server side consistently aborts with a segmentation fault. This happens when the client side selects the Display mode "Custom" or "Use whole display", however the connection stablishes correctly when the mode "Fullscreen" is chosen (although in this mode the whole server screen is stretched and it is almost impossible to see anything, see server & client configurations). Please, if there is any other document I should include, don't hesitate to ask for it. Bug#150: Cinnamon 2.2 does not work

I just tested Cinnamon 2.2.13 and it does not work properly with X2Go. Basically, Cinnamon resorts fo "fallback mode", which is not the same as Cinnamon2d. More details are below. Note that GLX is enabled, and I ran the "Custom Desktop" command: cinnamon-session-cinnamon2d ---- When I connect, only gnome-panel is running. (Basically, gnome-flashback is running, although package gnome-session-flashback is not installed) It is very different from cinnamon2d, which works locally, and there are many bugs in this version of gnome-panel/gnome-flashback. For example, you cannot even set a desktop background using the GUIs. I also see a dialog with the text: Do you want to restart Cinnamon? Cinnamon just crashed. You are currently running in Fallback Mode. If I click yes, the dialog comes back up. If I click No, I the dialog closes, and the session is usable, but it's very buggy for aforementioned reasons. This is just a VM I setup for the specific purpose of testing Cinnamon compatibility with X2Go. I have the GLX extension enabled on my test system (/etc/x2go/x2goagent.options has the line to disable GLX commented out) - Linux mint 17 qiana (based on Ubuntu 12.04 trusty) 64-bit - All latest level 1, 2 and 3 OS updates installed. - cinnamon version 2.2.13 - Custom Desktop specified in x2goclient: cinnamon-session-cinnamon2d - x2goserver & x2goserver-xsession: 4.0.1.15-0~847~ubuntu14.04.1 - nxagent & x2goagent: 2:3.5.0.27-0~446~ubuntu14.04.1 I've attached the contents of my .xsession-x2go-errors file. Package: nxproxy Severity: wishlist Logins to a system by means of a [x-]terminal or display manager are written to /var/log/[b|w]tmp and/or /var/run/utmp. Tools like 'w' and 'last' read from there to report current and past logins. In this respect, I wish for X2Go to behave like a (regular local) display manager, and suggest it writes session information to the said files. Thanks for all the good work in X2Go in the past and future! Holger P.S.: Please reassign bug to the appropriate X2Go component. 'nxproxy' was just a wild guess made by me.

If I manage to move a window via the desktop sharing session, the black nxagent window does some screen updates, but no full view of the remotely shared desktop appears. I've run in to this problem as well, with these x2go versions: Client (Mac) * x2goclient 4.0.5.0 (OS X 10.9+ build) or 4.0.5.1 preview (December 2015 build) * OS X 10.11.3 * XQuartz 2.7.8 Server (Linux) * x2goagent: 3.5.0.32 * x2goserver: 4.0.1.19 * x2goserver-extensions: 4.0.1.19 * Fedora 23 (with updates as of 2016-02-17) Steps to reproduce: 1. Run 'x2goclient --debug' and open a session 2. Observe frequent xmodmap commands while session is active 3. Quit session to see a large number of SshProcess objects freed This came to my attention because the default SELinux/audit settings on Fedora 23 log five events for each xmodmap ssh command executed on the server by the client. That's 1800 events per hour when an x2go session is active. Judging from ONMainWindow::slotSetModMap() in onmainwindow.cpp, it looks like the intent is to only run the xmodmap command if kbMap is empty (maybe there's an expected way for kbMap to get cleared so it has to be periodically checked?). However, slotSetModMap() runs every 10 seconds and executes a command every time. It's not clear to me how kbMap becomes empty. Furthermore, the SshProcess objects are not cleaned up until the session is exited. The 'processes' QList in SshMasterConnection grows without bound. (I've added the red boxes and text to clarify what appears to be random splodges.) We've reproduced this discrepancy on Scientific Linux 6.7, MacOS 10.6 and MacOS 10.9. When run natively, the image is displayed correctly. x2goserver is version 4.0.1.19 running on Scientific Linux 6.7 [1] EMAN2 from http://ncmi.bcm.tmc.edu/ncmi/software/software_details?selected_software=co… The downloadable EMAN2 gzip file contains all the software required to run e2boxer.py - the program that exhibits this problem, no build or config is necessary. "Socket error: disconnected" When connecting to the same session the second time within 30 secs, the connection goes through and I am logged into my virtual desktop. I am able to replicate this issue several times. Bug#989: pyhoca-gui fails to fall back to Gtk-2.0 notifications (pynotify)

Package: pyhoca-gui Version: 0.5.0.5-0x2go1+git20160128.1329+jessie.main.1 Dear maintainers, I believe commit e44e848415eff3e4dab69e990adfc447e79143f8 which introduced GTK3 notification support broke GTK2 notification support fallback. The problem was not present in 0.5.0.4 I believe the problem lies in this import construct in pyhoca/wxgui/notify.py which will fail the same way even when put alone in a file try: from gi.repository import Notify as _Notify except ImportError: import pynotify as _Notify I think the problem is that even if the GTK3 Notify module is not available, many GTK3 libraries get loaded and then the pynotify import fails with ImportError: could not import gobject (could not find _PyGObject_API object) This is the same exception I see when running pyhoca-gui. I think some more sophisticated GTK version selection mechanism is needed, one that would not start loading conflicting libraries. As a workaround for now I just removed that GTK3 import on my system.
