Package: x2goclient Version: 4.1.1.0-0~1634~ubuntu16.04.1 When running a remote session fullscreen on Linux (Ubuntu 16.04 Unity Desktop) and you move away from your screen, the local lockscreen pops up but the remote session stays above it, the lock screen stays behind so the remote session is still visible AND usable so anyone can do whatever he wants on that session even though the local desktop is locked. Bug#1214: Don't use the whole session slot as input zone to start the session

Package: x2gothinclient Version: 4.1.1.0-0~1634~ubuntu16.04.1 One annoying thing with the x2goclient is the fact that you can start a session without willing it far too easily just because every pixel from a session slot can be used to start a session. Thois is nice when you disable session edit but when it is editable, you can trigger a session start while you're just trying to change the desktop mode or the resolution. I would recommend keeping it that way when session edit is disabled. In the case session edit is enabled, it would be better to limit the zone where you can fire up the session to the top of the slot, where the logo and the session name sits. (see attached capture). Would be nice to have the ability to copy/clone a session in order to create a new session without having to redo all the configuration by hand. Bug#1209: Can't logout the broker in TCE

Package: x2gothinclient Version: 4.1.1.0-0~1634~ubuntu16.04.1 When you log onto a broker session, you first encounter a login form then get logged in broker mode and see the session list. Once there, if you did a mistake and want to logout without connecting to a remote session, you just can't. There is no "logout" button, only a "halt" button can be added that really shutdown the computer and not only get back to the login form. I would like to see a --closebtn option (just like the --haltbtn) added so that it would enable such a logout button that would be available but only when logged in in the session list. Pushing that button would get you back to the login form. Package: vcxsrv Version: 1.17 With the latest x2go Windows client (4.0.4.0), the embedded X server (vcxsrv 1.17) does not support the -noprimaryclipboard option that is available through the preferences in the x2go client gui. The primaryclipboard behaviour is very annoying with Windows so disabling it is a good idea except that it can't be done with latest release, when running, I get a debug windows stating clearly that this parameter is not supported. When connecting from physical windows or linux desktop with locally installed pgAdmin3/ or /pgAdmin4 to the remote postgresql database I can copy without any problems mapped_value text executed from a SQL query with more than 250000 characters and paste it in any editor on physical windows/linux desktop. When connecting from physical windows or linux desktop to the remote postgresql database using x2goclient and trying to copy and paste data from remote database to the physical windows/linux desktop editor it simply does not work. Hi All: Stefan asked if I would be willing to help porting some Qt4 projects (x2gclient and X2GoDesktopSharing) to Qt5. He gave me links to the git repositories for these two projects which I have downloaded and have build under Qt 5.9.1. There were only minimal changes to the DesktopSharing program and virtually no changes to the client system at all. So any way I've got a clean build of both. I have no idea of your testing regimes or code submission guidelines, so I'd appreciate someone letting me know what's next. The issues are the following : I want to use the French software Laurux, which is based on Gambas interpreter, via a x2go session running on a Debian 9 server running LXDE (same issues seen on an Ubuntu server, x2goserver version = 4.0.1.20-0~1125~ubuntu14.04.1).. As a prerequisite, the software is installed on the server and runs well on a local session. 1. Whatever the client (Windows or Linux 4.0.3.1-4), the local environment variables are not set properly and the software - which needs French localization - crashes. That could be "solved" the following way : /etc/x2go/Xsession : ... LANG=fr LC_ALL=fr_FR.UTF-8 export LANG export LC_ALL ... That seems to be a revival of older bugs, but it is definitely still here. 2. At the start of a new session, one gets a windows with an error message "No session for pid ..." ; that bug has already been reported several times in x2go bug tracking and marked as solved. Actually it is not on my brand new system. 3. The single application mode does not work with some of the applications, including that Laurux / Gambas. For example it works with /usr/bin/leafpad, but /usr/bin/libreoffice makes the x2go session crash. 4. The mouse double clic does not work in a x2go session, but only - within the Gambas software (works well for example when launching an application) and only - when the x2go client is running in a Windows environment (no problem when client in a Linux environment) Many thanks in advance for any support, Bruno

I tested an KDE Neon LTS 5.8 (based on Ubuntu xenial) and KDE Neon 5.9 (based on Ubuntu zesty) on my system. With both distributions, nouveau and mesa glx is running fine. Also connecting with x2go to an x2goserver installed is no problem. After compiling and installing the mentioned latest NVIDIA driver, x2go fails again to launch KDE plasma. Klaus

More information: Linux Mint 18.1 seems to be based upon Ubuntu 16.04, and this edition has x2goclient 4.0.5.1-1 available (exactly), so this seems to be a hit. You're using very likely this version. So, now that we have this, I'm pretty sure you're also on libssh 0.6.3-4.3, which is naturally based upon libssh 0.6.3. The corresponding commit that introduced the SHA2-based MAC algorithms was 262c82ac0661bb0be46477006ed366e401c1620f (in libssh's source code repository.) This commit first made it into libssh 0.7.0. Older libssh versions do not include it and thus do not support SHA2-based MAC algorithms. Given that Ubuntu 16.04 only ships libssh 0.6.3, that explains your trouble. You basically have two options: either report this to Linux Mint and hope they will update the update the libssh package for you and rebuild every package that depends on it (including x2goclient), or build your own versions. The first one is not likely to be successful, though I do not know Mint's update philosophy. Debian and Ubuntu typically don't do such huge upgrades within a released version line. If necessary, changes are backported to the older version - but for libssh that might turn out to be quite complicated and not worth the effort. Mint might be different, so it might be worth a shot to try. The second one requires quite a lot of effort on your side, including staying up to date and deploying self-modified packages. Mihai

Bug#966: Banner issue update

I've done some additional testing, prompted by your mention of the banner being configured using the Banner option in sshd_config. It turns out we are *not* using the sshd config option -- instead, we are displaying the banner using the pam_echo module, configured with the following line in /etc/pam.d/sshd: auth optional pam_echo.so file=/etc/issue.net What I've found so far is that the same /etc/issue.net plays nice with x2go when configured via the Banner option, but causes an auth failure when configured using pam_echo.so. I'm going to do some more digging to see if I can figure out what the difference is. Oddly, if I cut/paste the output from the OpenSSH client (on Linux) up to and including the Password: prompt, and do a diff between the two, they are byte-for-byte identical. By the way, the reason we use pam_echo.so instead of the Banner option is because we actually have two banners -- /etc/issue/net for the standard security boilerplate which is always displayed, and /etc/issue.alcf which is normally empty but is populated with information during our scheduled maintenance windows when logins are disabled. After change of the security settings on sshd we cannot connect using x2go. Using portforwarding ssh -L 9999:localhost:22 someremotehost then letting x2goclient connect to localhost port 9999 works. Settings in sshd_config MACs hmac-sha2-256,hmac-sha2-512 When connecting we get error message : kex error : no match for method mac algo client->server: server [hmac- sha2-256,hmac-sha2-512], client [hmac-sha1] My assumption is client is configured using hmac-sha1 as default Problem does not surface using ssh or ssh port forwarding. Problem can be easy reproduced using raspberry with mathe and MACs hmac-sha2-256,hmac-sha2-512 in sshd_config Problem surface also with different ssh proxy servers having the MACs setting. As stated before normal connection on ssh or using port forwarding no problem.

I uninstalled the binary NVIDIA driver 384.59 and then x2go works as before. Only VESA drivers are installed because nouveau does not recognize my graphics card in the version provided by Debian stretch. Of course running with the VESA drivers is not an option and only for testing. So it has to do with the current Debian plasma-desktop 5.8.6-1 *and* with the NVIDIA drivers. Maybe someone with a newer plasma-desktop and a NVIDIA graphics card can test this? Ubuntu "zesty" or "artful" do provide newer plasma packages. I've got the same ussiue with multiple versions of x2go client. Finnaly figured it out, turns out this happens when UAC (User Account Control settings) in windows is set to "Never notify". Package: x2goserver Version: 4.0.1.20 Since upgrading to Fedora 26 suspending a session no longer works, terminating the entire session every time. Functionality seems fine otherwise I have tried different window managers (Mate, LXDE, Xfce) but they all behave similarly. I also created a new, clean user but get the same results from their login. This is the default configuration, no customizations, and was working fine under Fedora 25. I can successfully connect to a Fedora 25 server using the Fedora 26 client so I believe this is an x2goserver (or Fedora 26) issue. New X2Go-ThinClientEdition-Live images available; changes to X2Go-TCE-Live build process

Hi everyone, this is to inform you that new X2Go-TCE-Live images have been built and are available for download here: <http://x2go.baur-itcs.de/x2go-tce-stable/> All files have been checksummed with md5, sha1 and sha256, the resulting files have been clearsigned using my GPG private key. My GPG public key is attached to this message, so you can (and should) verify the integrity of your downloads. Everything you need to know about X2Go-TCE-Live can be found here: <http://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/doc:howto:tce> The most important change is probably the one documented in this diff: <http://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/doc:howto:tce?do=revisions> It allows you to query which versions of X2Go-TCE are installed/running, if you are using local storage/writable portable media in combination with the updateurl= boot parameter. This is really helpful if you are using some kind of monitoring software - now you can monitor update progress. Also, all log output from our custom startup/if-up scripts is now written to /dev/tty8 as soon as it becomes available, and once a network interface is "up", an attempt is made to sync time using the ntpdate command (at present, it uses the ntp servers that are used as defaults in Debian; the code could be expanded to use custom ones if required). Other than that, the current images now feature a colorful login message both locally as well as via SSH, where details like MAC and IP are highlighted, as well as various improvements to the update mechanism. Ok, thanks. This shows that the TCE is using an old x2goclient that is still generating a xinerama.conf on ther server side (this file's content should match the values of xrandr and xdpyinfo you sent before). So you probably have xinerama enabled in the session configuration in x2goclient. For nx 3.5.99.x this is not required (but I doubt adjusting that will change anything). If I understand correctly TCE is not the side where the nxagent is running. So the version oft nx-libs there does not matter. I am wondering how the connection from the laptop can generate xinerama info as the laptop's xserver, that must provide the data, does not. Please post a log oft the nxagent startup. And the output oft xdpyinfo -ext XINERAMA within the session. Package: x2goserver or x2goclient Version: 4.0.1.20 (server), 4.1.0.0 (client) I'm using the standard "pc105" keyboard model and Slovene "si" keyboard layout at both client and server machines. Almost all of the keys work as expected while using the x2goclient to establish a connection to the local desktop. However, there are at least two combinations where I found that the passed keys are incorrect. These are: - The key under the ESC (sometimes called the "tilde key") - instead a plus sign is printed at server side. I think it should be fixed, because some programs use it for console. I use it for drop-down Terminal. - The key with less than and greater than symbols (<, >) is one right to the left shift, left to the Y key (QWERTZ keyboard). This is the "key difference" between US 104-keys vs. European 105-keys keyboards. I don't think it is connected with my specific layout, maybe a group of layouts (German one also comes to mind, from which Slovene one evolved). Can somebody reproduce it?

package: x2goagent priority: wishlist At present, there's a server-side configuration file /etc/x2go/keystrokes.cfg (and optional per-user settings in ~/.x2go/config/keystrokes.cfg *on the server*) that define which key combinations trigger actions in X2Go, like suspending the session or toggling between fullscreen and windowed mode. In windowed mode, it is currently impossible to switch from one application to another using Alt-Tab - it will always apply to the "outer session", the local display (X on Linux, GDI or whatever on Windows, $SOMEOTHERMAGIC on macOS). Microsoft has the same issue with RDP sessions. This is why Windows RDP sessions use the following mapping when running in windowed mode: <https://msdn.microsoft.com/de-de/library/windows/desktop/aa383500(v=vs.85).…> e.g. Alt-Tab is replaced with Alt-PgUp, and Alt-Shift-Tab with Alt-PgDn. It would be nice if we could add this to our configuration, so that a set of Ctrl-Alt-$SPECIALKEY commands can get mapped to other key combinations inside the session, so that e.g. Ctrl-Alt-PgUp would trigger an Alt-Tab keypress/release inside the session. My (corporate) username is formatted “firstname lastname”, and thus: /Users/firstname lastname/.x2go/ /Users/firstname lastname/.x2goclient/ I also have a personal account on the computer which is “firstname”, and thus: /Users/firstname/ The error message I am getting while using the “firstname lastname” account is: Loop: PANIC! Can’t read options from file ‘/Users/firstname.’ Error is 21 ‘is a directory’. I have a strong suspicion that the client is having issues with the space in my username. The reason I mention my personal account which is my first name is that /Users/firstname does exist and is a directory which may skew the error message during replication. When /Users/firstname/ is temporarily renamed, the client seems to hang and then closes without an error in ui. Package: x2goclient Version: 4.1.0 When I select the Option "Save as File" for spooljob on the Client and I select a exiting PDF File for an override. Thant the Client ask correct if is correct that I replace the existing file, but when I says "yes", the fie is not replaced and the original is still present. Thank you very much! Thomas

Mostly I get a black screen, sometimes one window is left open on the black screen (without an decoration, mouse works - keyboard not). So session-resume does not work with win10- or debian-clients... Not only on bakal but also on stable or nightly builds of x2go. Bugfix for me: As long as I am seperatly logged into the server (via rlogin), session resuming works fine. After logout from rlogin-session the x2go-session-resume is broken. Bugfix 2: rlogin localhost within x2go-session also keeps session-resume ok... Any hints? Package: x2goclient Version: 4.1.0.0 Hi, I found that the bug reported in bug #425 [1] is occurring again with the win32 build of v4.1.0.0. As described in #425, the CPU usage of "Windows Audio Device Graph Isolation" becomes around 14% after x2goclient is started. The issue could be solved by killing the pulseaudio.exe process. I stumble over the below issue when doing that: ``` dh_install dh_install: Cannot find (any matches for) "etc/x2goplugin-apache.conf" (tried in "." and "debian/tmp") dh_install: x2goplugin-provider missing files: etc/x2goplugin-apache.conf dh_install: missing files, aborting ``` Obviously, etc/x2goplugin-apache.conf needs to be handled in Makefile at make install.
