Bug#922: Avoiding X2GO Servers all using the same SSH_PORT - what conflicts when try to connect to different servers from one windows terminal (multiple sessions of x2go client)

Package: x2goagent Version: 3.5.0.32 As discussed with IONIC, there is a problem when You try to connect to different servers from Windows at the same time, using multiple instances of x2go client. The reason is, that the x2go servers are all using the same SSH_Port. That should not be a problem from my point of view, so that behaviour should be further investigated. The problem was reported already a very long time ago, but still exists : https://www.mail-archive.com/x2go-user@lists.berlios.de/msg00547.html In the meantime, here a small patch for x2gostartagent script: That patch uses a different SSH_PORT for each Server, therefore try to avoid conflicts. There are two methods implemented : method one, suitable for Class "C" Networks, with no possible conflicts. The SSH Port is dependent on the last octet of the servers host adress. method two, with randomized ports, what may lead to conflicts from case to case, but can handle networks were servers might have the same last octet of the host adress. However, that patch enables to have multiple instances of x2goclients running on one windows machine, against different hosts. please find attached the IRC conversation log with Ionic, as well as the patched script for x2gostartagent I hove it can be committed, I am getting tired to patch my hosts on every x2go server update ;-) yours sincerely Robert Nowotny Rotek GmbH

Is there any goal to remove usage of python Xlib from python-x2go? Package: x2goclient Version: 4.0.5.0 Client OS: Windows 7 64-bit SP1 Server Info: x2goserver 4.1.0.0-0~1303~ubuntu14.04.1 amd64 Linux Mint 17.2 Rafaela (GNU/Linux 3.19.8 x86_64) I installed X2Go for the first time and after saving my session settings it will immediately crash the session preferences window, causing the entire program to be closed after the crash message is dismissed ("x2goclient.exe has stopped working"). It does save the settings successfully before crashing. This happens whether any settings are changed or if I just click cancel after bring up the session preferences window for the only session profile present. I'm using: KDE session, SSH port 22, username: lcb, prompt for password (No keys), LAN speed, 16m-jpeg, Quality 8, custom resolution 1680x1050, 90 DPI, Bidirectional copy/paste, and a single shared folder (Downloads). I tried creating a new session with only a username and host specified and this crashes as well upon saving/cancel. As long as I don't change session preferences the client works great, no other issues. Package: x2goserver Version: 4.0.1.19-3.el6 OS: Centos 6.7 Package: x2goclient Version: 4.0.1.4-1.el6 OS: Centos 6.7 Architecture : - Dual screen - Gnome Desktop - Fullscreen - Xinerama enabled First connection : The first x2go connection is ok the full scrren is working as expected. (the only problem the first connection is that the keypad does not work). To fix keypad issue, I have to logoff and start a new x2go session. Second connection : After the second connection the xinerama does not work anymore. For example If I maximize an application, it is present on both screens. The worst is that the task bar is located in th middle of the screen. I I tried to logoff and reconnect again I have the same issue. To fix it I have to reboot the centos 6 (client side) and after the first connection is ok (but with the keypad bug). Troubleshooting : - Change task bar location - Change screen resolution - Disable sound and print - I also tried from last Ubuntu or fedora => same issue - I tried to change the video card (from nvidia to an intel) => same issue Any idea to fix this ? Package: x2goclient Version: 4.0.4.0 Hi, I'm not sure if this is a server-side or client-side bug but each new user who tries to connect to my X2Go server initially receives the following error message: "Check your GSSAPI configuration or choose another authentication method." I have noticed that this error disappears as soon as a user establishes his first SSH connection to my X2Go server (using PuTTY). Regards, Lukas

For information, I use the gnome desktop from x2goclient. I have some slowdown issues and sometimes my screen freezes. Furthermore, I can not use virtual desktops from the centos when I select another desktop my session freezes. Thank you in advance for your help and thank you for this product. Bye

logout broken with Xfce 4.12

Since Xfce 4.12 update in ArchLinux logging out from Xfce session won't close the connection cleanly. I couldn't find anything useful in the logs. Can somebody with a different distribution confirm this? Anything useful we can provide to solve this? -Andy ArchLinux

Problem integrating x2go into Linux-system

Dear x2go developers, first I'd like to thank you all for creating such a helpful product! Hope I've addressed the right mailing list? I'm trying to integrate the x2go system into our own (MPA-)Linux system which we are using and developing for centuries now (it's used non commercial in an research institute). While the client connection from my (MPA-)system to a pre-installed Ubuntu server works without a problem, the connection to a (MPA-)Linux server doesn't work yet. I'd appreciate it very much if you could be of any help to me! I have enabled some debugging and enclosed these log files: client-session1.log - shows the x2goclient 'session.log' to an (MPA-)Linux server. It fails on line 59 with a 'Protocol mismatch or no X authentication data' client-sessions1 - shows the x2goclient 'sessions' file where the problem seems to show up on line 386 where only 14 instead of 50 bytes (which I see in a working connection to the Ubuntu installation) are identified. Followed by "handleAuthorization: WARNING! Failed to match the fake cookie for FD#6." in line 392. Does this mean that the server wasn't able to apply the fake cookie? What could be the reason for this? Where might I look further on? In which code part is the fake cookie written to .Xauthority? Which debug might I enable to track down the problem? server-session1.log - server site log: there I found an Exception on line 91 resulting from an I/O error. Any hint would be very welcome!
