Bug#150: Cinnamon 2.2 does not work

I just tested Cinnamon 2.2.13 and it does not work properly with X2Go. Basically, Cinnamon resorts fo "fallback mode", which is not the same as Cinnamon2d. More details are below. Note that GLX is enabled, and I ran the "Custom Desktop" command: cinnamon-session-cinnamon2d ---- When I connect, only gnome-panel is running. (Basically, gnome-flashback is running, although package gnome-session-flashback is not installed) It is very different from cinnamon2d, which works locally, and there are many bugs in this version of gnome-panel/gnome-flashback. For example, you cannot even set a desktop background using the GUIs. I also see a dialog with the text: Do you want to restart Cinnamon? Cinnamon just crashed. You are currently running in Fallback Mode. If I click yes, the dialog comes back up. If I click No, I the dialog closes, and the session is usable, but it's very buggy for aforementioned reasons. This is just a VM I setup for the specific purpose of testing Cinnamon compatibility with X2Go. I have the GLX extension enabled on my test system (/etc/x2go/x2goagent.options has the line to disable GLX commented out) - Linux mint 17 qiana (based on Ubuntu 12.04 trusty) 64-bit - All latest level 1, 2 and 3 OS updates installed. - cinnamon version 2.2.13 - Custom Desktop specified in x2goclient: cinnamon-session-cinnamon2d - x2goserver & x2goserver-xsession: 4.0.1.15-0~847~ubuntu14.04.1 - nxagent & x2goagent: 2:3.5.0.27-0~446~ubuntu14.04.1 I've attached the contents of my .xsession-x2go-errors file. Bug#826: shadow sessions inside nxagent sessions fail

If I manage to move a window via the desktop sharing session, the black nxagent window does some screen updates, but no full view of the remotely shared desktop appears. logout broken with Xfce 4.12

Since Xfce 4.12 update in ArchLinux logging out from Xfce session won't close the connection cleanly. I couldn't find anything useful in the logs. Can somebody with a different distribution confirm this? Anything useful we can provide to solve this? -Andy ArchLinux

Bug#883: Window Decorations gone when resuming on smaller screen

Feel free to reassign to nx-libs or vcxsrv in case the root cause is in one of these. Situation: Start x2goclient.exe on a Windows machine that has a native screen resolution of, say, 1024x768. In X2GoClient, configure a PubApp session. Run Firefox/Iceweasel and resize the application window so it almost fills the entire screen (do *not* maximize). Close Firefox/Iceweasel. Open it again to verify that the window has the same size as before. Close it again. Terminate or suspend the session. Close X2GoClient. Now, change the screen resolution to 800x600. Start x2goclient.exe again, resume your session, or start a new session and run Firefox/Iceweasel again. Expected result: Firefox/Iceweasel window gets resized to maximum available space, with window decorations. Actual result: Firefox/Iceweasel goes fullscreen and lacks window decorations, so it cannot be resized or moved out of the way. This does not happen on Linux, where the native X server is used, nor on OS X, even though OS X uses a separate X Server. It only occurs on Windows. It might have to do with the X server we ship, however, trying XWin.exe from Cygwin gave even worse results. Bug#883: Can be fixed by reverting winmultiwindow.patch

I determined that this bug can be fixed by reverting Alex's winmultiwindow.patch to VcXsrv, which was a workaround for #594 and has been included in both 1.15.2.x and 1.17.0.0-x of the VcXsrv X2Go/Arctica builds. I also created a bug report & branch in the GitHub project for VcXsrv (X2Go/Arctica builds): https://github.com/ArcticaProject/vcxsrv/issues/3 https://github.com/ArcticaProject/vcxsrv/commits/bugfix/bug3 I will be releasing X2Go Client for Windows 4.0.4.0-2015.06.22 with the OpenSSL updates. When I do, I will offer an alternate build with VcXsrv with winmultiwindow.patch reverted. This will be a workaround until we make a change to VcXsrv that fixes both #594 and #883 -Mike#2

X2Go Server tcp_wrapper banner bug

So we found out that the tcp_wrapper banner on /etc/hosts.allow on the RHEL7.1 X2go server was breaking the x2go client connection. Kept getting the ŒProtocol Mismatch¹ error on the client. Once we modified the /etc/hosts.allow file: FROM sshd: 137.78. 137.79. 137.228. 128.149. 127.0.0.1 : banners /etc/banners TO sshd: 137.78. 137.79. 137.228. 128.149. 127.0.0.1 The x2go client was able to connect to the server. This seems to be a bug in X2go. Thank you, Liz
