Bug#263: X2Go Client fails to resume

Bug#206: When a user ends pyhoca-gui, the session cannot be resumed

package: pyhoca-gui Severity: normal Version: 0.4.0.1 When a user ends pyhoca-gui by right-clicking on the icon and selecting "exit", the application exits OK, however when a session is still active, that session cannot be resumed. What happens is that when one restarts pyhoca-gui and that connection, pyhoca-gui indicates that it will resume the session, however, nothing happens and the session is quietly killed. Bug#364: Please add config option to disable bubble help text and change the wording of it

Package: x2goclient Severity: wishlist Version: 4.0.1.2 Upon connection, an info bubble pops up, containing a *totally cryptic session name* and disappearing after five seconds or so. No non-technical user can make use of that message, seriously. And even technical users will have a hard time memorizing a cryptic session name within 5 seconds. Please, also add an option to disable this popup, and seriously consider changing the displayed info to something more user friendly like "Connection to host <host>, session <sessionname> established as user <user>." It's okay to add the cryptic string somewhere where techies can find it if they need it, maybe in an About-Box or so, but please - think of the chil^W ordinary non-technical end user. And again, I'm kind of disappointed that we're adding silly eye candy when there still are serious bugs to fix.

If i don't use OTP, i can see x2goclient connect twice to my server. Hi List & hi Bugwatchers, Mike#1 and I discussed the following approach via phone today: - x2goclient gets a new commandline option --keep-icon - when this commandline option is set, the taskbar icon will not change upon successful connect (global setting) - a new configfile option "keep-icon=true/false" will be added - when this configfile option is set, the taskbar icon will not change upon successful connect (per-session setting) - this change will be implemented for 4.0.1.3 - a config option/checkbox for it will be added with a later release. - Stefan

Bug#362: Chromium/chrome still crash VcXsrv when used with X2Go (VcXsrv doesn't crash with Chromium/Chrome and plain X via SSH)

Package: x2goclient Severity: wishlist Version: 4.0.1.2 Even with the newer Xserver that is included in x2goclient-4.0.1.2-pre02-setup, Chromium and Chrome still crash at random intervals. To be exact, they're not crashing themselves, they're crashing the Xserver. Pausing and resuming a session lets you continue where you stopped, yet, this is an instability that users won't put up with since they quit Windows 98/Millennium for good. It's only when X2Go is involved that these crashes occur - if you export the display with ssh (from PuTTY) instead of using x2goclient.exe, Chromium and Chrome behave well. This is not a showstopper for me (my customers are using Iceweasel so far), but it is an issue where I had hoped to see some improvement with the new Xserver.

Like all other SSH-related options, the GSSAPI authentication mechanism should not be configurable for DirectRDP sessions. Can you please fix that in Git master? Thanks. Bug#42: GNOME3 desktop (in non-fullscreen mode) does XRandR resizing of the desktop session window

Package: x2gognomebindings Severity: important Version: 2.0.1.6 When a GNOME3 desktop is opened via X2Go in non-fullscreen mode the GNOME3 xrandr / monitor settings code does some awful resizing of the desktop session window. Reproduce (GNOME3, also an issue with Unity): o you need a client-side display greater than 1024x768 o set desktop size to 1024x768 in x2goclient session profile settings o set desktop session to GNOME on a Debian wheezy server o launch session Compare to KDE4: o you need a client-side display greater than 1024x768 o set desktop size to 1024x768 in x2goclient session profile settings o set desktop session to KDE on a Debian wheezy server o launch session What you see: o with KDE4 the desktop session window will have the expected size o with GNOME3 the window appears in the expected size and then gets resized from inside the starting up GNOME3 session o in my case: GNOME3 tries to resize to 1920x1200 pixel. The windows gets adapted to the greatest size possible on my client display (i.e. the window maximizes) o However, the desktop shell inside the window does not adapt to the window size o I can manually resize the window afterwards via the client-side window manager (play with your mouse on the window borders...) o Still, the desktop shell inside does not adapt its size This might well be a GNOME3 bug (detection of X server resize events), but it normally won't cause problems on physical hardware. So, the X2Go team may have to discover a GNOME3 patch for this problem.
