Bug#105: Logic errors in x2goruncommand

Package: x2goserver Version: 4.1.0.0 Greetings. In working on a deployment of X2Go on some Ubuntu machines, I found some logic errors in the x2goruncommand script that cased it not to determine the proper session to run for Gnome or Unity on Ubuntu 12.04 (and probably others). In essence, the script was testing the return code of bc, rather than the actual answer (1 or 0) to the boolean question being passed to it. Here is a patch (also attached) that fixes this problem and I can verify that this works on at least Ubuntu 12.04 systems. I don't have any others I can easily test on. I'm not crazy about the quotes both outside and inside $(), but I think it should be okay. Perhaps a more adept bash programmer might have a better suggestion. :-) Thanks for your attention and please let me know if you have any questions or need any other information. Bug#112: Mac Os X keyboard bug: NumLockMask always set, keyboard unusable

I suspect a problem with nx-libraries. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I can supply further information for the mac os x keyboard bug in x2go. I think I had this problem already ~2 years ago, when I first tried out x2go. All pressed client keys produce wrong key events on the host. Its a real show-stopper since it makes x2go basically totally unusable for me and others. See also this post on the x2go mailing list https://lists.berlios.de/pipermail/x2go-user/2012-November/001123.html There, Michael had the same problem I observe with: Server Side: Ubuntu 12.04 with x2goserver 3.1.1.6-0~610~precise1 from the stable PPA Client Side: Mac OS X 10.6.8 with x2goclient 3.99.2.1 from the x2go website Keyboard Layout: en_us everywhere, and in x2goclient I checked "Keep current keyboard Settings" I'm using Mac OS X 10.8.2, XQuarz 2.7.4 and also x2goclient 3.99.2.1. I also tried changing x2goserver from stable PPA to 4.1.0 from git. Also toggling "Keep current keyboard Settings" does not make a difference. Server is also a ubuntu machine, but could cross-check this with a Debian install (and see if the same error occurs there). The problem is that keystate changes while it is transferred to the host: MAC: state 0x0, keycode 26 (keysym 0x31, 1), same_screen YES, LINUX: state 0x10, keycode 26 (keysym 0x65, e), same_screen YES, This makes the keyboard unusable, since every client keycode gives a wrong keysym on the host. The mask 0x10 is set for all key events sent to the host, every time. Looking around in X's headers I found: defined in <X.h> /* Key masks. This makes sense since 'dfg' gives the numbers '124', i.e. indicating that I have some sort of Numpad overlay in the middle of the keyboard on the host. For what is worth, a found similar bug report with no machines remote desktop. http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/31691/no-machine-remote-desktop-is… "For instance, the Delete key was now comma, all the letters were transposed, general chaos. " I can also confirm that backspace is comma, so this seems to be the same NumLockMask problem. Every key is garbled, but not randomly. The same problems apparently appears here in a bug report in XQuartz. They think its not their fault: http://xquartz.macosforge.org/trac/ticket/471 Quote: "From my experience using NX in Linux, NX is badly designed. It sends keycodes instead of KeySyms to the remote NX session. This causes the remote session to behave badly, unless you install the local keyboard map into the remote X session. It is a problem with NX and not the X server. However, that should have no effect on the local keyboard mapping. " If someone could point me in the right direction, I would be glad to help. And as I have no need for the Mod2Mask, as a temporary fix, I would be fine to ignore this mask on the server side and hard code xkey->state &= ~(1u << 4); somewhere. Has someone an idea how to further investigate this issue? Is there someone who can report a working keyboard with Mac Os X as client?

x2go keybindings / toggle key

Hi, I would like to get the following functionality from X2go. I would like to use a key press to toggle between the 'keyboard focus'. I would press a key on the keyboard and the focus would toggle between the client and the server. That way I could keep the keybindings the same for both machines. For example: I use i3wm on both machines. Windows key + fn key switches workspaces on both machines. I would like to press a key to toggle the focus between the client and server desktop. So maybe I would press " ` " and it would set the focus to the server and then all my subsequent key presses would affect the server desktop. When I want to return to my client desktop I would press " ` " and it would set the focus to the client. I could change the keybindings for my window manager iteslf. In fact I may go this route if there is no solution for x2go. However I thought it might be easier to have a focus mechanisim in x2go. Is this already a feature of x2go? If so how do I implement it. Maybe I could write something for the wiki. If not, would it be difficult to enable such functionality?

testing x2gobroker Python module

Hi Otto, on IRC you asked how to test the python-x2gobroker module: o enter the base folder of the x2gobroker.git project o run ./test.py And: be aware of this Debian bug [1]. You need to apply the patch provided in that bug to one file in the python-paste package manually to make the tests work. Bug#110: No buttons in KDE netbook theme

Package: x2goclient Version: 4.0.0.1 I'm running on a netbook with KDE's Air for Netbooks theme. In this mode most window decorations are removed. The screen size is small too at 1024x600. When the session properties window is show, no Ok button is visible. See attached. I can get the buttons to appear by starting the session properties window and *then* hiding the panel. But if the panel is hidden when the settings window is open, the buttons are not there either. Bug#109: x2goclient crash after selecting external X server

Package: x2goclient Setup: x2goclient on Win7 Issue: When testing with an external VcXsrv installation, x2goclient reports an error when opening it and close preventing to access the settings and revert to the internal server. We had to edit the registry to overcome the problem.

Bogus requires for cups-x2go RPM on CentOS 6?

The RPM spec has a Requires line that includes cups-client, but no such dependency exists on my test CentOS 6 x86_64 system. I'm able to force installation and it seems to work, but for the future I'd like to either add a repository containing the dependency or get the spec file fixed.
