Hi Stefan thanks - I've seen your message via the webfrontend earlier and thus decided to sign up. However, CCing me would have been a good idea, yes. I am flattered, but unfortunately not skilled enough to help you. The fix I send originated from a hour-long debugging session with two other people (non-OS X developers) - I am pretty sure I would have never caught such a stack overflow by myself. (Actually, I tried debugging via gdb at first and noticed the this pointer changed when going into the newly called channelLoop function, causing the program to crash - but was more than startled because this should have never had happened. Turns out, the stack was full and the first parameter of the function, i.e., "this" could not be pushed onto it, thus reading some random memory.) At the same time, I am happy to say that otherwise the x2go client (from git) is fully functioning on OS X with one little flaw - I have to test the same git version on Linux as well to confirm a OS X specific bug though. Oh yeah, and building nxproxy on OS X is not trivial but easily manageable with a few build system modifications. Older clients will be fully compatible with newer servers (and vice versa). The fix addresses a session resume failure that occurred every once in a while (quite rare, but annoying). Hello again, thank you for your explanations about the firefox plugin. I did a simple search and found this link: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/developers/docs/sdk/1.0/dev-guide/module-d… I don't how you are building the xpi plugin, but after reading a bit, seems that it is a pretty nice way of making a firefox extension based on local native libs. And I think it can be automated, too... Of course, you still need the windows machine to make a windows compatible plugin, so waitinf for your new server is a must, too :) If I can help, with this task, let me know, please. Hi all, as the traffic on the x2go-dev mailing list is currently growing enormously (which probably is partially my fault, as well ;-) ), this shows me that X2Go is in the discussion and also being used at your sites. That is very great. The dynamism is really lovely. However, also the development team and the number of contributors is growing. The number of incoming patches has measurably increased within the last two months. That is awesome and we are very happy to observe this. Meanwhile, this x2go-dev list is turning into a ,,real'' development list. We more and more discuss coding issues, send in / review patches, etc. So, I (and also other developers) have to become more strict when discussion threads run off-topic for a development list. Please consider your topic well that you post to x2go-dev, make sure it is a development issue, a bug, etc. However, issues that relate to using X2Go, fine-tuning your setup, etc.pp. please consider sending to the x2go-user mailing list. Please support us with our work by using the x2go-user list for issues on using X2Go. Let us keep this channel free for development. Hello Stefan, well, in real world I would never use LAN as a setting, even on LAN i would use WAN as the primary setting. We've benchmarked it, and without access to the benchmarks right now (you should find them in some article by Harald Milz in the german issue of the linux magazine some months ago) I can only say: You'd have it better that way. I would recommend you to use jpeg compression in combination with libjpegturbo, since this makes a real difference - especially on modern netbooks since their processor speed is not the best but in combination with the SSE-instruction sets which are used for libjpegturbo this makes a major performance boost (up to 3x in my lab tests). But: please tell us: what glitches do you suffer? What settings are you using? An upgrade to Gigabit will not help you much IMHO, since one session and 100 Mbit is far more than enough. x2godesktopsharing: Full Access not available for other users?

Hello list! I am a bit confused re. the discrepancy between wiki and actual behaviour of x2godesktop sharing: x the wiki [1] reads that With the desktopsharing function of X2go you can have full-access the desktop from somebody else... x when I (USER_B) connect from a remote machine with x2goclient to "local desktop" (USER_A logged in on tty7 of x2goserver), the USER_A's session is shown in the lists of sessions available for sharing, however the button "Full Access" is greyed-out and cannot be clicked.
