Hi Alex, Mike(?) I just saw parec running and producing unneeded traffic. In onmainwindow.cpp:10577ff it says: QString scmd="PULSE_CLIENTCONFIG=~/.x2go/C-"+ resumingSession.sessionId+ "/.pulse-client.conf "+ "parec 1> /dev/null & sleep 1 && kill %1"; What is the rationale behind this code? As far as I understand it, parec is supposed to run for one second. I'm not sure that that is what the code does. Cheers Morty -- Dipl.-Ing. plugin.x2go.org does not work, where to get x2goplugin ?

Hello I tried to test x2goplugin (Firefox plugin) and used instructions on http://www.x2go.org/doku.php/wiki:components:x2goplugin?s[]=plugin I have build website saying "This website will offer you a plugin named ..." but it does not work. Unfortunately, the following URLs do not work: http://www.x2go.org/doku.php/wiki:components:x2goplugin-example http://plugin.x2go.org/download/x2goplugin_linux32.xpi http://plugin.x2go.org/media/x2goplugin.js Can you help me to find x2goplugin_linux32.xpi and x2goplugin.js ? Apparently X2Go requires the /tmp/.X11-unix directory to exist with permissions 1777. Could you please see to it the creation of this directory and the permissions settings are performed by teh x2goserver package. Hi, This patchset contains a number of miscellaneous patches that implement both bugfixes and code cleanups in the master branch. I imagine that some of them might be controversal, but I am personally convinced that the current code becomes easier to work with this way. Dear Daniel, Network manager defines a default security policy that allows altering networking-related settings only when the user sits in front of the computer. This policy in general does make sense, otherwise users would be able to break their active session. It seems unfortunate that this policy seems to affect VPN settings as well. This issue should definitely be discussed with the Network Manager maintainers. However before doing that, I think should learn more about the current situation. For instance, I'm not sure if x2go registers a proper console-kit session besides the one that is created as part of the ssh connection. I could imagine having a configuration switch to consider 'x2go' remote sessions as "local" at least for testing purposes. I fear we in x2go should really revisit and properly document the design of session management - it is not trivial at all! Unfortunately, none of the current developers seem to have the resources to do this properly. For instance, as you have noticed yourself, x2goserver-xsession is not installed by default, but TBH, I think this is a bug that is related to the overly strict recommend relationship declaration on the x2goserver package (another wtf from my side). The only documentation for this package is here: http://code.x2go.org/gitweb?p=x2goserver.git;a=blob;f=x2goserver-xsession/d… - Unfortunately, it leaves a lot of questions (such as "what is a Xsession config file", etc.). I'm not sure how to proceed from here, hence, I copy the x2go-dev mailing list as I feel that this user issue indicates a larger, conceptional problem. What you propose is to introduce a completely new security policy: everyone in a certain group 'netdev' may change everything. This may be appropriate in your scenario, but may not be in others. For instance, have you considered what other packages "use" the netdev group? Are you fully aware about the consequences in terms of additional privileges users gain by being put in that group? Moreover, in a managed environment, where all users are in a network directory such as NIS or LDAP, it is not that simple to add a user to a computer-local group, as the group may have a different group ID on different machines. Such scenarios are not uncommon for larger x2go deployments at all! Merry Holidays! SSH Proxy for OS X interface

Hi All: We've started to use the SSH Proxy option on the x2go Windows client - very cool!. Just downloaded latest client for OS X, but don't see the Proxy server option. - Is this for windows only at present? Is an OS X version in the works? - Is there a way to simulate the proxy server option, possibly in a script? Any examples? Thx Ted

close #75 thanks Hi Reinhard, I have checked this issue on my machine. This bug used to exist for quite a while and I ignored it. Reproducing with old pyhoca-gui versions: o generate two rsa/dsa pub+priv keypairs A and B o install the pubkey of A on the server o test that privkey of A for authentication -> works o test privkey B for authentication -> fails with ,,not a valid DSA key'' The error message is raised in Python Paramiko. With latest pyhoca-gui code the issue has vanished. If you use an invalid key (i.e. one that fails to auth with the server), then pyhoca-gui falls back to password authentication. Feel free to reopen this bug, if you experience this differently with versions >= 0.2.1.1 of Python X2Go and PyHoca-GUI.
