Bug#51: Add XFCE4 (desktop) session type

Package: x2goclient Severity: important Version 3.99.2.0 As Debian wheezy will have XFCE4 as default desktop shell, we should add it to the X2Go Client session type selector before the next X2Go Client release. Bug#50: suspending terminates sessions

The corresponding processes remain alive, only the DB entry gets lost. This issue does not occur in the 3.1.1.x release serious. Kde4 and Plasma Mess - Is anyone working with it?

Hi dear, Fellows. i've been working with x2go for some time, but now i'm entrenched with KDE4 after many years with KDE3 running great with nomachine. KDE4 is still a mess nowadays. As anybody knows KDE4 has lots of problems with sizing and resizing of plasma panels, screen geometry and other stuff as usal. So i had to code lots of scripts that take use of x2goserver-run-extensions: What these scripts do is resize the plasma-panel and resize the screen geometry when resuming a session in case of the resuming is done in another Desktop or laptop with a change in resolution. My problem is that for plasma to assume the new resolution you have to kill it and start-it once again after you change plasma-desktop-appletsrc with the new values. So, when you do this after resuming the session, every time you move/maximize/minimize a window they slow to a crawl. How to test/reproduce this sympton. If you have a x2goserver installed with a kde4 session, kubuntu or other, start a session, go to konsole and do: kquitapp plasma-desktop && plasma-desktop & after plasma start if you try to move any window around everything will be allright and fast as before. After that do the same thing but after a x2gosuspend and in a runing resumed session try to move your konsole window around the desktop, it will lag like hell. If you this on a real display on your laptop, or in a running session everything will run fast as before. P.S: i'm sending this same email to both user & dev mailing list. Bug#48: heuler x2gothinclient multihead support breaks singlehead mode

Package: x2gothinclient Version: 1.0.99.1 Severity: important /usr/sbin/x2gothinclientd hangs and does not start x2goclient. The hang is caused by DISPLAY=:0 LANG=C xrandr | grep ' connected ' | cut -d ' ' -f1 which, when run manually from the command line, gives "xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default default" [sic!] Disabling the entire routine with -foreach (`DISPLAY=:0 LANG=C xrandr | grep ' connected ' | cut -d ' ' -f1`) +foreach('') fixes the issue for singlehead mode, but breaks multihead mode. So, two suggestions: 1) STDERR from xrandr should go to /dev/null or to a log file/syslog, so -foreach (`DISPLAY=:0 LANG=C xrandr | grep ' connected ' | cut -d ' ' -f1`) +foreach (`DISPLAY=:0 LANG=C xrandr 2>/dev/null | grep ' connected ' | cut -d ' ' -f1`) 2) A simple fix could be if (1 < `DISPLAY=:0 LANG=C xrandr | grep ' connected ' | wc -l`) { foreach (`DISPLAY=:0 LANG=C xrandr | grep ' connected ' | cut -d ' ' -f1`) { ... } } I'm sure there might be a more elegant solution that works within the foreach loop, but "Hanc marginis exiguitas non caperet." -Stefan

Bug#47: x2goclient account requires manual setup

Package: x2gothinclient Version: 1.0.99.1 Severity: wishlist Package creates /home/x2goclient and all the required subdirectories, if not present, but fails to create the user account and set its group membership. This leads to an error about chown x2goclient:x2goclient (somedirectoryname) not being possible. Current workaround: useradd x2goclient (Note that this will create a locked account, as shown by the "!" in the password field in /etc/shadow)
