Hi Mike, at http://wiki.x2go.org/installing_x2go_thin_client_environment_debian you highly recommend to set up a server of it's own. Where is the rationale behind this strong recommendation? Especially as I can see no major security risks running the server (you need root to set it up, of course). At least none you can solve by using an extra server. But there is quite a bit of overhead running the whole thing in a VM as it has mainly I/O. And if one already has a nfs running, I can really see no need for the extra overhead. minimum memory for thin client

hello, i work now more and less 2 years with an x2go network in cameroon and it works fine, so thanks for your work. i would like to participate, but here the situation is crazy: in few years we will no more recognise africa and the technical level of the discussion is too high question 1 i would like to know the minimum of memory for x2go thin clients, i have read the x2go docu and google but i don't find the answer. i know that we need 64 mb for ltsp, i suppose it is a more for x2go thin client, so how much it is? question 2 as our connection here in cameroon is very poor, we have done in europe a repository usb hard drive, it works well. i have done a script to install a x2go server and it goes very fast: less than 15 minutes the x2go server is working, if interesse i can post the script. question 3 i come to europe begin of july for 2-3 months, i would like to meet people to experience installation, use of x2go, exist a workshop or something like this in the holiday period? with a cameroonian woman and some friends, we want introduce low power network (one x2go server 4 client) with solar power and with x2go. hope to see you michel -- kamerun(a)immerda.ch homepage: http://sokolo.cronopios.org linux friends sokolo new road limbe / cameroun phone : (00237) 743 514 33

Hi all, one of my todos resulting from a phone call with Heinz was to rename x2goplasmoidbindings to make it integrate in the package naming of plasma/kde4 widgets more smoothly. That is: Git project: x2goplasmabindings Source package: x2goplasmabindings Only binary package: plasma-widget-x2go You should be able to upgrade your package from x2gplasmoid/x2goplasmoidbindings to plasma-widget-x2go without issues. Hi Mike, could you add the diffs? At the moment this isn't that helpful - except that there actually was a commit. It would also be nice, if you could move the first block to the end of the mail (I alread know, that it is generated by a hook) and replace the description of the repo in the topic with it's name to simplify filtering. x2golistsessions output

Hi Alex, on some rare occasions (PyHoca-GUI queries the session status every five minutes) the x2golistsessions command returns/stdouts a weird value: e.g. |mike-142-1307541552_stDGNOME_dp24|142|vidar.das-netzwerkteam.de|R|08.0611 15:59:12|||||08.0611 15:59:12|2000|0| This x2golistsessions output is obviously incomplete. Do you have a clue why there are some values missing? It mostly happens during the first 5-10 seconds of a newly started session. Any ideas? x2go rdesktop connexion credential forwarding

Hi everyone, First I want to thank you all for your great work! X2go is much more stable than freenx/neatx and usb key support is working great. I am currently trying to use x2go to compress an rdp connexion. Browsing the mailing list, I have seen that there are already people using it this way. I wanted to now if there is a way to forward the credential from the x2go connection to the rdesktop connexion? It want to avoid the login screen on the windows machine, the login/password being the same for the x2go connexion (ldap based setup). Keep on the good job! Segmentation fault with x2goclient

Hello list, I'm using the x2go squeeze packages on both server and client - everything is pretty standard. The client is started with x2goclient --pgp-card The first connect to the server always works without any problems (we will find out that it has nothing to do with "first", but since the client segfaults at the second connect it is always the first connect that works). x2golistsessions displays 19492|knoppix-52-1306738000_stDLXDE_dp24|52|ahostname| S|30.0511 08:46:40|0aa7e04c159a1a4db1ab1fc4b293fbe1| IP|30007|30008|05.0611 16:33:28|1000|546726|30009| After pulling the smart card and inserting the card again, the pinentry shows up but the session reconnect does not work. The client segfaults. After approximately 30-60 seconds the server returns the working output without the "DISPLAY=" line. Connections to a server running on an older Debian Lenny work without problems, the result from x2golistsessions is consistent. The cause of this behaviour is the inconsistent output from x2golistsessions but I would consider the client crash as at least a bit annoying and would propose to check the string before assignment. Can we discuss a bugfix for this? I really don't know why the DISPLAY-line is returned for a short time after a session suspend, the 52 can be seen in the normal one-line-output from x2golistsessions. Thanks and kind regards, Martin

I read about this today and and although not a developer I wondered if this could possibly be another means to migrate from the NX libraries ? x2goagent/NXAgent bug with evdev keyboard driver

hi all, in a phone call with Heinz yesterday I addressed an issue with x2goagent that has also been an issue with old versions of nxagent in case the client system uses the evdev keyboard driver (AltGr key gets stuck, sometimes als the Shift and Ctrl key). The problem is documented on NoMachine's site: http://www.nomachine.com/tr/view.php?id=TR02H02327 As my development notebook uses evdev, I encounter this issue regularly (and that's my personal reason to get rid of this bug ASAP). The current plan is to incorporate the latest changes in nxagent's code (3.5.0-x) into x2goagent before Baikal.
