Installing x2goserver-one in Debian added 300 users to fuse and x2gousers groups

I followed the instructions in the Wiki and installed x2goserver-one on my Debian Lenny server. However, during the installation, it told me: Attention: If you want to allow users to log into the x2go system, you'll need to add them to the "x2gousers" group but then it went on all on its own and added all users (about 300) of the system to the "x2gousers" as well as "fuse" groups! How do I undo that? Right now, I need to click around for hours in the Users and Groups admin tool :-$

Compiling x2go Windows client

Hi, I am attempting to compile the win client and have installed the QT SDK, MinGw and the x2goclient sources. They have been added to the environment path to allow the compilation binaries to be found. The readme says that one should rename x2goclient.pro with x2goclient.pro.windows yet the latter file does not exist? I decided to press on and ran qmake followed by make which completed without any errors. I found the x2goclient.exe within the debug directory and once I ran it the normal client screen popped up but was immediately followed by the error "Runtime Error!" from the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library. Would very much appreciate some help in resolving the problem please. -- Thanks, Phil

Python X2go: nxproxy problem with multiple sessions to different servers

Hi Alex, hi Heinz, i have a problem that occured when coding Python X2go... I have two servers. None of them has any X2go users connect to them. When I connect to server 1 it offers SSH display tunnel NX-Proxy port 30001. When I connect to server 2 it also offers SSH display tunnel NX-Proxy port 30001. However, I cannot start two nxproxy instances listening on the same SSH tunnel port. Is there a communication protocol in X2go that gives the server feedback if an offered port is already in use locally on the client? It actually is not only a graphics/nxproxy issue, it will also occur when tunneling sound or sshfs (only that I do not get that far without a tunnel for nx traffic). Any help is appreciated... Problems with Mac, Windows and Maemo clients

My wife borrowed my laptop last night, so I decided to try and see if I could get any of the other X2Go clients to work, as I'd been having display corruption problems (see previous emails - might actually be a display driver issue, not an X2Go issue). 1. Maemo: Couldn't install it on my N900, because it hadn't been rebuilt or reimplemented for Maemo 5, so that was a non-starter. 2. Windows XP: A dialog box popped up saying "Could not start the X server". Xming was installed. When I ran Xming myself, x2goclient just hung when I tried to connect. Well, didn't do anything anyway. Every time. 3. Mac OS X 10.5.8, using the latest XQuartz X server: Works fine, except, bizarrely, Ctrl+S has *no* effect in emacs! Just plain 's' works; ctrl + other keys works; ctrl+s works if I just use straight X11-over-the-network to run emacs. It's very strange. Any ideas as to what might be happening? (I have selected "keep existing keyboard layout", because selecting a keyboard layout explicitly in the Linux client didn't work - keys were wrongly mapped.) Regards, -- Robin Green

Disappearing text - problem and possible solution(?)

Hi, I had a problem with text (of certain colours only) suddenly disappearing from windows, and not being visible again until I disconnected and reconnected. This problem has been reported on the FreeNX mailing list, but I didn't see any mention of it here yet. I found that setting the image compression method to png (20M, I think) instead of jpeg, fixed this problem for me (so far). But it might be just a coincidence that I stopped having this problem - on the FreeNX list, some people report that the issue is very intermittent and hard to pin down. I am using a self-built X2Go Server with the latest NX libraries (also self-built) on the server, and on the client I'm using the standard Ubuntu/Debian packages (on Maverick). Incidentally, the client machine is actually a Virtualbox VM, although I'm not sure this is relevant. Regards, -- Robin Green

X2Goclient for Windows command options

Is there any comprehensive documentation for the command options of the X2Goclient for Windows? I have not been able to fathom (for example) what and how to feed to the --session and --command arguments. Here's what we have to do: Launch the client in full screen with no menu options and complete login information already built in at launch. Kind of like kiosk mode in that the user can do nothing but enter the remote application. He (she) should not be able to exit the client or readjust any of the settings or even access the Windows outside of the client screen. assistance would be warmly appreciated. Thank you, Yitzhak

Okay I have now got it to start vcxsrv, sshd and pulse by copying the x2goclient.exe binary to c:\program files\x2goclient\ though when I try and connect to a session it just hangs on connecting :( The code I changed was in onmainwindow.cpp to the following: /* xorg-> setWorkingDirectory ( appDir+"\\xming" ); */ /* xorg->start ( appDir+"\\xming\\xming.exe",args ); */ xorg-> setWorkingDirectory ( "C:\\program files\\vcxsrv" ); xorg->setEnvironment ( env ); xorg->start ( "C:\\program files\\vcxsrv\\vcxsrv.exe",args ); What I have noticed though it that the binary I compile is huge compared to the one that is shipped. Plugin availability

Hello, I'm not sure to have understood correctly last time we discussed about it… I was thinking that the plugin will be released by September or at least October, but it doesn't seem to be right :) Does anyone know approximatively when the plugin will be released ? This year ? Actually I just need one feature : session sharing. I can wait for the ability to run it on any browser… but session sharing is really important for me. Moreover the client already supports it. Regards, gml PS. I'm not complaining at all, it's just to have a date in mind :)

Having x2go in debian repositories and working out of box is great, but some need it on other platforms too. Before I set out to compiling x2go on those platforms, I need to ask here if this even makes sense, i.e. if x2go is portable enough to be compiled from sources "out of box" e.g. on AIX and have CDE as window manager. So is it? I'm willing to devote some effort to this (although I can't promise to make this my full time job). Just a presentation of "oh look, we can wire up some existing things differently without using X". So let me ask, where does the GPU acceleration processing take place? If Wayland can support transparent network display clients using the X-protocol (so we don't have to reinvent the world) and make use of local (client) GPU hardware to speed rendering then this would be great.
