Okay, I'll admit I didn't look at the list, and NoMachine has started<br>
work on compositing desktops, I don't know how they are going about it.<br>

What I do know is that I had this problem with Mint and other OS's that<br>
used compositing desktops and in every case Mate' worked with X2Go (and NX).<br>
I've read other people got it to work with Gnome classic but I had no luck<br>
with that and really prefer Mate anyway.<br>

Nomachine claims to work with it (I tried and it does - ish), and in fact<br>
Cinnamon is also in x2go list to choose.<br>
Cinnamon support is also in latest changelog, so I suppose there must be a<br>
way.<br>

Btw I have also Mate and it did exactly the same, however I enabled desktop<br>
sharing from cinnamon, so that might be the reason.<br>

I come from xrdp madness, so I know a bit the issue with cinnamon and not<br>
mate.<br>

You can't use a compositing desktop with X2Go, if you put Mate on<br>
there<br>
(on Mint) it will work (that's what I am using to get to my Mint server).<br>

I am trying to connect a Windows 7 machine to a Mint/Cinnamon server with<br>
desktop sharing enabled.<br>

I see the ssh connection apparently successful from auth.log:<br>

Is there some log on the client? Maybe I can find the blocker there and<br>
report for more help.<br>
I read that Cinnamon was an issue but it should be working now, right?<br>
