Can you ssh into the server? As a bare minimum you need to be able to ssh in to the server as that is what the x2go client does.</p>

Sound like you have a firewall active on the server that blocks the incoming ssh traffic, or between them maybe. </p>

This would indicate, together with the connection refused message, that the problem is tied with ssh traffic not getting in to the server. I don't remember I'd ssh server is installed (our recommended) with the x2go server our not, but you need to have the ssh package installed for x2 go to work.</p>

1. Check if ssh (server) is installed on the x2go server<br>
2. Check if there is any firewall actively blocking tcp/22 (ssh) from entering the server<br>
3. Try to ssh to the server</p>
