I encountered it on two separate machines - each with xfce-desktop and a
debian wheezy.

tried all: with ssh-key, with or without agent forwarding, only password ...

I tried both. With key-auth - but also with password-auth.

I can connect from the x2goclient from the same computer to the same
server and I can connect with an older version of pyhoca-gui on another
