since today, this is not true anymore. The nxagent now also supports  
Xinerama without a running WM.

The merge of this PR fixed the issue.

Thus, you might want to ponder de-complicating the TCE code in that  
respect. However, a WM does not hurt. The workaround is just not  
needed anymore.
