First, create a new, additional user. If everything works there, start
comparing group memberships and file/directory permissions.

If it's still messed up with the new user account, your best bet would
be comparing group memberships and file/directory permissions on another
Mac where you've checked X2GoClient works out of the box.

My guess is that you have insufficient permissions to run either
PulseAudio or something required to run PulseAudio.

I'd start looking at the output of

ls -lah /Applications/x2goclient.app/Contents/exe/pulseaudio
ls -lah /Applications/x2goclient.app/Contents/exe
ls -lah /Applications/x2goclient.app/Contents
ls -lah /Applications/x2goclient.app
ls -lah /Applications
ls -lahd ~
getent group | grep $USER

and check if anything unusual crops up there.

Or maybe you're (pre)loading a wrong library or your path is all wrong?
Or you have a script in /usr/local/bin or somewhere else in your path
that matches a command name we're calling?

Kind Regards,
Stefan Baur
