Hi,

as far as i know there is no way to do so. I also had this problem with 
a page here at the university.

I would suggest do set the notify configuration option 
(http://www.dokuwiki.org/config:notify) to a mailinglist. Everybody who 
is interested in changes can subscribe to this list.
