More info:

Using Ubuntu Lucid:
I removed the x2goserver package and reinstalled x2goserver-one.  That 
cleared the "/usr/bin/x2goagent: line 1: -e: command not found" error.  
However, the "cannot open display" error still persists.  Still 
rejecting auth.
